A Call to Arms...!!!!!

Grizz...........where do the molefix static .bdp's go? The installer puts em on the desktop and I'm assuming one then places the bdp's in the plane folders.....or do I mistake? Thanks....GAW

MAW has several splendid campaigns you can fly in, and I am only now beginning to explore the joys of PTO-RS, Thanks Guys!

want to get this right before I bollocks up the works bunging files on the wrong shelf.......anybody?

there was not even any thought to any campaign mode in any of the add-on CFS3 expansions, neither DPC Korea, MAW, BoB, PTO or ETO
I did campaign mode for MAW and ETO..... but you have never downloaded those add ons so how can you say this?

Now it is your turn, go on, build a campaign mode for RS, DPC or any other add on. If you start tomorrow, it should be ready for public release for about december... 2012... if you have spare time.....

Do you know what does in mean building a campaign mode? Have you ever open a XML file? build spawns? Setup each square of the terrain?.... You have never open a campaign file so you strictly can't imagine all the parameters that need to be setup.

tssssss you strictly don't know what you are talking about, you take freeware but don't give anything to community. You are lucky, I don't know the words in English to express all the good things I'm thinking of you.

They are building BDPs, but you install the static_aircraft folder and contents in the main CFS3 PTO Rising Sun directory.

Optional install

Welcome to the Rising Sun static aircraft mole fix installer.

Inorder to prevent the sim from overwriting the mole fix bdp the file must be encrypted using the Windows XP Encrypting File System (EFS).

The EFS feature is not included in Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. Therefore the files cannot be encrypted and it is not necessary for you to install these files if you have the Home Edition.
The installer will install the static aircraft *.BDPs in a temporary static_aircraft folder on your desktop.
Once installed open each individual aircraft folder and right click on the .BDP file and select properties.
Uncheck all selections.
Select Apply and then select OK.
Right click on the .BDP and select properties again.
Select Advanced
Check Encrypt contents to secure data.
Select OK.
Check Read-only.
Select Apply.
Select Encrypt the file only
Select OK.
Select Ok closing the properties window.
Continue editing the properties of all the static aircraft .BDPs.
Copy and paste only the static_aircraft folder to your CFS3 PTO Rising Sun main directory installation.
Remove the temporary folder from your desktop.
Operation: The static_aircraft bdps will be copied to the associated static aircraft building folder locations when the Rising_Sun_Theater_Selector batch file is run.
Note: You will have to run the Rising Sun BDP Zapper.exe before running mission builder to remove the encrypted BDPs from your install otherwise mission builder will fail. Next time that you run the Theater Selector the encrypted BDPs will be copied again to the building folder.

The link for RS download no longer works,

Talon

Talon, et al, you are right, but it's not just the link.

I just saw this message on the Aussiex site:

"Forum is currently unavailable
Hi all,

As said I am moving the whole community to a new server so please be patient for the next say 6 hours or so while I do this, the time is

6AM on December 2nd, 2011 (Sydney Time)"

Please be patient, my friends.

Hi Rich,

Its a shame your not prepared to take a look at the work before judging, you may be pleasently surprised by what you find. There is plenty of work being done by many too enable campaigns in CFS3 addons.

In addition to Loic's work for MAW and ETO the team for Over Flanders Fields have developed one of the best dynamic campaigns for a flight simulator since the classic Red Baron II.

If your happy flying Stock CFS3 so be it, but please stop with the negative comments about work you have not even installed or inverstigated.

regards Rob.

sigh........just noticed a word doc icon lost in my desktop litter with all the mole instructions as per rhb's patient post......SO....anybody else out there going over the jumps....these guys have given us all the tools to load RS......and it' FANATASTIC...........very cool work......THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!

Just to let you all know, I am moving the server over so you won't be able to access the downloads for another 7 hours until after the timestamp of this message.

I installed to a different directory and modified the batch files.

Now that all is finished and running, should I go back into the batch file properties and tick "read only" or do they need to stay unlocked for further changes when the mod runs?

Your choice on the option to set the theater selectors read only. Its a safety to keep the formatting intact. Either setting will not change sim play or operation. If you are talking about the static_aircraft .BDPs then they must have read only set.

Jay

Thank you for hosting the Rising Sun. The PTO/ETO Team appreciates it very much.

Bob

Here's a big THANK YOU from an infrequent poster who is still hanging around. I have CFS2, but a good implementation of the Pacific Theatre in CFS3 would be so much nicer. I don't know how you guys do it, and I'm grateful.

I should have my new box shortly and can't wait to see how CFS3, OFF and FSX behave on it.

Best,

Tom

No worries at all Rob, always more than happy to support any type of freeware, especially something awesome as this !

Download speed

I am in the process of trying to download the first file and it is very slow, projected time to complete download is over 8 hours. I have a very fast internet connection and normally files load very fast. I am on Windows 7. Is there a download manager I need to get and use for these files.

Thanks
Steve

Steve you should be getting over 400kb/sec download speed. I suspect there is a lot of download traffic at this time. Jay would be able to say for sure, but I suspect he is in the land of nod at this time and probably won't be able to take a look until his morning.

Thanks Bob, will give it a try a little later.

Steve, I use this: http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/

Works wonderfully for me.

I am trying to download as a check, and it does seem to be going rather slowly right now, at around 220-240K, even with my FDM. I usually get faster speeds.

I have already PMed Jay at Aussiex, and am currently awaiting a response.
