A Favor, If I May...

Hi SC,
Unfortunately those hex addresses mean little, I wish they did, so we could all work out where 'that' missing scenery is!! (thanks M$)

If you have followed Rami's Euro layout, to the letter!, then really you need to start by removing any other scenery in and around Guernsey, that is not in the Euro layout.

When the alerts stop, re-introduce each scenery and see what triggers it, then see what needs to be in situ for that specific scenery.

Good ol' 'trial and error' mate!

Cheers

Crap.

I'm using an experimental / hybrid combination of Rami / Achim / Canion ETO scenery for maximum effect.

I have a feeling it is the latest addition - a Seaplane base on the South end of the island - that's causing the challenge.

:: sigh ::

If it ain't ONE thing it's ANOTHER !

Thanks

sc7500,

One way to check is if you have Martin Wright's GSL tools, specifically GSL edit, you can locate Guernsey in your GSL file and check what objects may be missing.

Yep I do, and I have. This appears to be AWOL terrain, not infrastructure. I had this challenge many years ago with an early install of the PHP scenery - flying along nicely, then a warning box telling me to 'Beware - missing SOMETHING' causing momentary interruption of flight.

I woulda sworn Cody had a Primer for deciphering these alert box messages, but I'll be danged if I can find it anywhere...

Hmmm...

SC - I didn't address that type of error message in my Handbook. However, I can remember discussing it with Martin Wright ten years ago when I was running into them a lot. As mentioned above, they indicate a missing scenery item. But, that may not mean the scenery is not in the game. It could be caused by the order in which the different scenery layers are loaded. You might try moving your scenery layers around, changing their order and see if that helps; particularly since you are using a hybrid combination as you describe.

In the end, I don't recall that anyone figured out the definitive answer to the issue.

This may not be the problem in your case SC, but for the general users, you will always get these messages if you make scenery library changes "in-sim" and then go fly immediately. After making any library changes you must exit the sim and restart it.

Ordering Sequence

Bearcat - Good call, but after several false starts with this issue a while back, I make an effort to clear and restat the sim [remove all index files and let them rebuild 2X] before flying.

I think Cody may be on to something here - I'll mess with reordering the scenery sequences this afternoon and report back tonight.

This is NOT my week for successful conversions and MB modding - must be the Super Moon ?!?!? :isadizzy:

Thanks again

Finally

A combination of Bearcat and Cody Wisdom did the trick - no more missing scenery !

THANK YOU ! :icon29:
