Aw, man, you really should have pre-painted the landing gear before gluing them on. It's gonna be a pain now!

(Can't believe how much the render looks like a plastic model!)

Can I say that I think it an odd choice?

We already have an F-105 native FSX from AlphaSim (and that is not a huge seller, from the list on their site), I would have thought a F-100 or F-4 would have sold 10 times more!! Nice looking model though.

I have to disagree calypsos.

The Alphasim model, while yes pretty externally, offers little inside.

FSX developers have come a long way in the past few years. I think this baby deserves all FSX can do.

We already know the external will be amazing (from renders). If we get a good VC, a great painter for external, and some neat features here and there, this baby will sell.

That's my opinion though.

As for F-4, A2A is making one correct?

I questioned IRIS's motive with the F-16D, but the logic behind this F-105 appears sound to me. Many felt as if the Alphasim F-105 left a lot to be desired. I kinda regret purchasing it myself. The sounds behave oddly (the engine gets about four times quieter in aug) and the flight model was beat into behaving oddly at the request of a 'former F-105 pilot' who swears that it all is as it should be (even though it can almost be not landed in any sorts of winds and approaches require full military power).

Some of the most famed F-105s were two seaters, such as Colonel Bud Day in his Misty FAC aircraft.

Looks great! I will most certainly love to have a Weasel Thud in my FS collection. I hope we can get a F model as well. It will make it possible to do the Thuds of Capt Merlyn H. Dethlefsen and Capt Leo K. Thorsness, both which were awarded the MoH for flying WW missions in the F-105F during 1967.
And we can get the the Ryan's Raiders into the mix as well.

I for one would love to have a wildweasel...good choice. The thing that really annoys me about the AS F-105 (and others), is looking over my shoulders and not being able to see wings and tanks. Wing tip vapor trails from an invisible wing are silly. I understand the reasoning for it...keeping the polys down...but I don't like it. Many other builders (Razbam included) manage to put wings on their planes and still get great performance.

When I was in college, I attended a lecture given by Major Dethlefson on his Vietnam and Medal of Honor experience. He was an incredibly dry speaker, but the content of his lecture was great. I believe he died a few years ago.

Gents:
Thanks for the comments and ideas, the project is about the F & G versions of the Thud(sorry no D currently)will have accurate cockpits (that´s right, plural)and they will be "busy" cockpits and also drop able ordnance (in missions only though or saved flights), as for sounds, i´m looking for IRIS awesome sets of sounds (hey Dave..!).
Denny....jeez...i got glue all over my fingers and NOW you just tell me that!..:icon_lol:
Just be assured we´ll try to replicate as accurate as possible these aircraft.
Best regards
Prowler
