A Lockheed "Rounder"

Thank you sir; I am working my way back to here, lots to do here and there with so many toys that need attention. :wiggle:

Still looking for more period photos of the real world cockpits of the Harpoon and Lodestar if you all find waiting to be boring. :kilroy:

I have the Pilots Handbook which is great, but I know there are some good cockpit photos out there. After the project is done, they seem to pop up for people to criticize your work. :icon_lol:

Sinister! It looks SINISTER! Gives me an idea for a dark grey paint scheme with the cockpit interior glowing reddish orange through the glass from the panel light illumination... like EVIL RED EYES! LOL!!!:redfire:

OK... I'll shut up now, but you do have a point, Modelr.

Nice Viddie, Phantomx1. :applause: Man I really love the sound of those big radial engines, especially at the end when the PV-2 does her fly-by. Great stuff! :salute:

Amen to that! Thanks for posting the video Phantom.

The model looks fantastic Milton. No lack of documentation here.:kilroy:

From the video, the view from the ventral position is better than I thought.

Yes that was a beauty and had some nice era music with it, plus it had very good clarity to it as well as some very nice reference shots in and out. That vid just seems to transport you right there in that very time era like it was today.

Just felt it needed to be referenced here on Milton's thread with his PV-2.

Bugger, Bugger, BUGGER!!!

LOL Guys.

Here, I rolled her out just for you. :wiggle:

Wow!!!....Now quick!, roll it right back in and padlock the hangar doors (from the inside).

:bump: :bump:

Just bringing this post to the front :wavey:

Pete.

Hi Pete!
We still have a nude dame to get through the works! Sorry, have to Dash...

Didn't know if ya'll had seen this, probably have. Very good quality vid of Attu Warrior.

I've spent 2 months doing my best to keep a lid on this vid.

Now look at what you've started!

The vid is awesome, and the music is a good choice, but the music belongs in the background, not the forefront! The video is about the plane, not the music. Let us hear the aircraft! At least they turned the music off for the last 30 secs, so we could hear the flyby.

I like to hear period correct music during a walk-around or photo essay, but I would have preferred to see the music stopped just before the props begin to turn. I love to hear the sounds of electric fuel booster pumps, the dip in the sound as the priming switch is engaged, the whine of the starter motor, and the banging and belching to life of a reciprocating engine. It's great stuff, the only thing better is to be there and smell it too!

That sounds exactly like Nigel's work! :) :applause:

I am with you ... great description, but still a great video for reference. :jump:

I tried to edit just as SOH went into maintainance yesterday, so I'll do it now. Actually , it was additional comments on the video. Just so you all know, I really liked the video, and my comments on the music above stand.

Something that really bugs me about the commonly used editing style lately, and this pertains to a lot of videos, in a lot of genres, is the very fast scene changes, only giving us a subliminal glimpse at a scene. I HATE THAT! Before I can even focus in on a scene, it is changed. Instead of a half second look, give us a 3-4 second look. If you can't do that, leave the scene out, or make the video longer. I always end up having to pause the video in order to focus on a detail, which kills the mood of the video. And if it's an action scene, phhhTT.

Rant over.

Really looking forward to the Lockheed Rounders. Will try to keep my patience in check by flying, and enjoying immensely, the Grumman Seven. (Going to pickup my new rudder pedals today. :jump:) Time has allowed me two short flights so far, and they were very enjoyable. Thanks Milton and gang. :applause:

Oh yeah, Nigel? and whats this about a "nude dame", mate? I have always known you were up to no good, now here's the proof! :a1089: You prolly have been stealing all of the ouzo from the dispersal too.. wonder where it's been going these past few weeks. Initially I thought it'd be your little buddy Matt, poor little fella. He's been dealing with the brunt of my accusing him all this time. You outta be ashamed! :a1310:

OK..lol!! I'll shaddup and watch the video now.
