A Lockheed "Rounder"

Milton, speaking of the Harpoon, was there ever a model done without guns or rocket launchers? Some that could be used as a base for military surplus civil conversions.

(I've been hauling cargo fully armed)

W.

Yes Sir; there are both C and D models that are clean for civil schemes.

There is now Willy, et al.

Have fun :)

Note that this is a minimal release, downgraded textures, basics only. I created this special version for all of you and the patience you have shown.

Looks pretty darn good for a "minimally textured", basic model, compleat with a snazzy nose art image. I took it up for some T&G's, it's definitely a lot lighter than the armed version of the Harpoon, and with a full fuel compliment, will hop smartly off the runway smartly at 1/3 flaps. Cruises nicely and handles much like a big twin should... (further investigation pending). I hit the "I" key and without knowing what the end result would be, dumped a load of fire retardant whilst sitting on the ramp tho.... :biggrin-new:. Funny... I got a kick out of that.

Thanks for uploading her, Milton.

Thank you Milton and Team...you are all working so much for our flight sim enjoyment :applause: and I can only repay your efforts with a smooth landing from time to time.:dizzy:

Andy.

Thanks for the comments. :)

Sorry about the Smokesystem oversight; forgot to remove that.

Tom, have you tried spoilers, wing fold, tailhook, or water rudder, or Concorde nose, or .... LOL

<--- Hmmm... (Rubs forehead, looks at L-18 sitting on the ramp). Back in the left seat for another flight. Pulls out MSFS key command cheat sheet. "Lemme see, what does this switch do?" That's what makes it fun about flying a WIP, you never know just exactly what you're in for.

For a "WIP" I am impressed! This could be the final release and I'd be VERY happy! Great work to the team!:encouragement:

Oh yeah, I've been very impressed with the Harpoon so far and this civvy version is just what I've been looking for. And the bare metal paint is pretty close to what I was wanting to use as a base for some of my repaints. I'm seeing Santa Fe Skyways & Western Air Cargo paints in the near future. Not to mention a few other liveries I've been wanting to try for a while. Might even go for a Mohawk Gaslight 'Poon.....

A little familiarization flight from Las Vegas to Valle AZ.

I have to admit, I've thought I could do some fair bare metal, but this is way beyond what I've been doing...

hi,

I like to add and change panels about and the Harpoon is one such I have messed about with a bit; however I think there is no anti-ice or pitot system and I'm asking as to whether that is easy to add in?

thanks for advice.
Andy.

Here's the Lodestar cockpit, now with some shading on the sidewalls and floor, etc. I think it does look a lot better than the first clean version. I've had a real blast playing around with the textures in PSP, learning how to do the shading on top of what I've already learnt. I'm going to see what I can do about the upper and lower panels, like putting on some labels for the switches for example. I'll use the templates that Milton provided a few posts back in this thread. Milton, there's a patch of reflection on the sidewall under the right window, seems to be coming from outside.

Hi Andy. You bet. I need to rearrange startup related switches because they are all over the place on the original aircraft or hard to see from the pilot's seat. The battery master switch, the generator switches, the pitot and the anti-ice switches are on the electrical panel hidden inside the box between the seats (shft+t) but are not functional. In fact on the fire tankers, we store cigars in there. :)

That's looking great mrogers. Very nice improvement as you add shadows or shading for realism. Please do keep after it adding text or whatever. Nigel will get to this eventually, and please not that some things may change as we finalize the interior, but do not let that stop you for now ... may be months before we get there.

Took this one up for some circuits on some Solomon Island coral strips and have to see she sure looks right and flies right! Great work.

Well, thanks everyone for the comments. There's still much to be done but I am happy that you can get some pleasure out of it as it continues to evolve.

Working on adding the rest of the appropriate electrical switches now on the left side electrical panel (replacing those in the center floor electrical panel for better organization and ease of access).

Milton,
Great news about the cigars
These are wonderful aircraft and tweaking a few bits makes them a bit more interesting for the truly unskilled, such as myself:jump:.
I notice that in the sim (had I troubled to look),there are assignments shown for pitot and engine anti-ice, but would they work anyway? I shall ascend to 24000ft and see what happens.
Thanks,

andy.
