A New Gmax Ai Modeller ---> Casa 212-100

Looking quite nice Morras! Still hoping to one day see the 212 as a full fledged flyable model. In its current AI state, it is still superior to the one that I have in my hangar.

OBIO

Thanx guys for the lovely comments, i really appreciate it!!!!

Here is another screenshot of the LOD1 model, i have managed to get some shadows onto the model textures and it looks not to bad...i hope hehe

Lionheart my friend, yes i have done everything myself from scracth hey, it is a long and tiring learning process but i am enjoying it all the way, will in the end also modify the casa212-100 to make it a casa212-300 variant also.

As of now i am currently on the LOD 5 model, i have thought to use 9 models in total and so far with the 5 models i get about 0.5fps drop with only 2 planes but yes there is still some work left!!!!

I hace struggled to do anything in FSDS and just stuck with Gmax and now it is a breeze working with it hehe:running:

Here is the screenshot as promised

Obio thanx for the comments, i will upload all the source files when i am finished so if you or anyone wants to see her fly then you can do as you please with it hehe:jump:

Ascua02 i saw on the SAAF variant casa models that they paint the serial number on the top roof part just above the windshield, but have seen the spanish airforce pain the serial or part of it on the nose so i have done both in my texture so i guess there will be lots repaints for this baby when she is finished hehe.

I will keep you guys in touch!!!

Morras this is great stuff!
Flipping through Wikipedia I was surprised how widely this aircraft is used.
Your model will fly in many many places.
Would you consider making the stretched versions also?

Wing_Z my friend, thanx for the comments, its been one heck of a learning experience so far, the main reason i have started to build this one is because i make SAAf packages and ran into some stumbling blocks when i got to44 Sqn SAAF since they oprerate 2xCasa212-200 and 2xCasa212-300 and there was nowhere any good Ai models for those planes so i though i would build my own:icon_lol:

Yes you are right this plane is used extensively and there will be many a repaint and flightplan for this baby:applause:

The versions that i plan to make is this Casa212-200, the same as the 100 just the engines different basically, that is the one in the screenshot and then i will also make the Casa212-300, the one with the wingles and longer streamlined nose, only those two since they are operated by the SAAF but i will also upload the source files i created so anyone else wanting to modify it for their needs new versions with skids skies etc, they will be more then welcome :wavey:

Hope that answers your question sir and i will keep you all posted!!!!!

Hello Morras

That "Picio" is looking great, about the Spanish Air Force (Ejercito del Aire) I can say with almost 100% certainty that what you see in the nose is not the "last two" of the serial, but the airframe's individual number within the wing.

So if you see, say, 35 'roundel' 33, the 35 will be for Ala 35 (35th Wing) and 33 will be the individual number of the aircraft within the wing, occasionally you will see a 3 digit number to the left of the roundel and that will be the Squadron instead of the wing.

For example, you have Ala 15 and within it 151, 152 and 153 Squadrons, but if you ask me who carries what, you better give me a couple of months to find out, it is better to check pictures of the individual aircraft you want to represent.

Hope it helps :isadizzy:

Saludos and keep it up :guinness:
