A new LFG Roland D6 is out

Just downloaded, installed and flew it. It's a beautiful model and it flies very nice. I especially like the finely crafted Lozenge camouflage paint and the appearance of the natural wood. The real aircraft with this level of workmanship are a work of art and this model captures it very well.
 
Awesome!! Beercan, I've been highly anticipating this release ever since the first images you posted. The aircraft looks absolutely superb, and just the type of aircraft I enjoy the most (I hope you continue to find more WWI types of interest to you!). The quality/detail of the visuals makes me think of The Vintage Aviator collection/builds.

Downloaded, and I'm really looking forward to the first opportunity I can get to fly it in the sim!
 
Beermat, certainly a 'tour de force' & has been said before a fantastic freeware model. It certainly puts my efforts into the dustbin, although I hope to try to improve things by trying a FSX native model & maybe using Lagaffes method of overcoming the 64k Gmax/FS9 mdl boundary.
Only comment is with regards to the engine smoke which seems to appear in flight & not be at the aircraft speed. Have I overstressed the engine somehow?

Beermat-lol! I have seen some engine troubles too, usually when doing acrobatics. I seemed to have fixed them by decreasing the power a bit and using the hand oil/fuel? pump several times. Hopefully someone can translate the manual. Great model!
 
I've been going through the user guide, page by page, with translations (looking forward to getting into doing the manual engine starts as the user guide describes). The user guide mentions that cruise power should be around 1200 RPM, and that the engine is prone to overheating, so avoid slow flight at high power. According to the user guide, an engine temperature thermometer was added (though there isn't one in the real aircraft) so one can monitor the engine temp and try not to exceed the limit. It suggests if the engine gets too hot, to try increasing speed while reducing power (descent) if possible.
 
Help an old prop swinger get this started. I do gas lever at 4'clock, pump at 8 o'clock, 4 shots of prime, mags 'both' at 4 o'clock, exciter (assume just a click) then CTL E. Engine fires but doesn't run. I'm set on my joystick/throttle for rich - something else?
