Is it possible to add effects to general road ai

im thinking about creating flashing light effects ie small red and blue lights to the ambo, fire trucks and repaint a car to look like a police car

Im thinking it might look pretty cool day and night to see some emergency services on the move as road ai

your thoughts?

Ouch! My frame rates! Even with my current rig I can only dial in 12% road vehicle density without sacrificing a few fps.

It is a neat idea.

i thought that at 1st, i had a play with the settings at different scales and the lower the better, i watched a few main roads in a city for a while and saw the same car every few minutes, the lower the setting the less it appeared

after watching it, im thinking unless your in a major built up area where every rd is a main rd you wont get much of a hit at all if you keep your traffic low

In theory, I imagine you could.

All the cars are in your Simobjects/Goundvehicles folder. If you were to replace some of the .mdl files with new .mdl files of ambos or firetrucks with lights in them it would be interesting to see what happens.

It may also be fun to use ModelConverterX to see if you could use the "attached object editor" within that to attach some effects files to one of the existing models.
