FS2004 Canadian Forces DeHavilland Twin Otter, in the current paint scheme. Textures only. Model by Premair Aircraft Design. Repaint by Peter Brown.

It looks like this:

Too much yellow?
Then take mine:

cc13807.jpg

Or does it have to be 13802?

cc13802.jpg

Hmm - according to a colour list I have, the yellow depends on the era.
The depicted yellow R225/G202/B0 was used until replaced by the "more orange" one of R255/G183/B0 on dedicated SAR aircraft in the late 1990ies. I used this later tone for my fictional Dash7 FIP repaint.

Since I made a customized paint kit for my earlier "white" Rescue Twotter 807, tweaking some panel lines and adding some shadows, I may roll 13802 into the paintshack again...

O.K. - just smashed some "orange yellow" over:

The horizontal stabilizer of course needs to be fixed and the black nose tip added.

That's some very mean (VATSIM/FSMETAR-) weather currently at Yellowknife, isn't it?

Here is FSX example of the #802 Twotter I have this one from Aerosoft in ski's. floats, and regulars, bummer no Tundra Tires which go on her next week IRL as it stands right now. Also added pic wise is Fs9 CAF Twotter on ski's Look at my nose, it has a yellow circle. I tried to fit the paint on the Tundra Variant and it dont work, different mapping.

Markus, the 802 looks good. Wonder if the model you used comes with a Tundra, ski's? This is its usual three configurations. I'll try to contact Silverfox, he indicted a excellent article which makes mention of possible new Twotters. Guy your lucky to see a SAR Griffon, I havnt seen one yet, all I saw helo wise so far is the CCG Bo-105.

Also added pic wise is Fs9 CAF Twotter on ski's Look at my nose, it has a yellow circle.
That's because the PAD ski model is a 'longnoser' and the texture's black nose area of this repaint is not 'long enough' for this version.
I'll try to get the textures working for the shortnoser, the long-nose ski and even the float/amphibian version, as the texture mapping is the same for those models IIRC. I currently dunno if PAD also released a tundra wheeled version, but I'll take a look...
I think some of the CC-138 are longnosers, maybe I'll dedicate the correct serial to them.

I think some of the CC-138 are longnosers...

Nope.
Just checked airliners.net: No long nose in sight. :kilroy:
So if anybody wants to put him on skis, the wrong nose has to be ignored...
It also seems like the CF Twotters were fitted with 'pure' floats, no amphibs. Any confirmation about this?

... 429 Sqdn SAR Griffon 1484225 from Bagotville CF-18 Base ( CYBG ). Take a look and feel free to produce a repaint for this one too ...

Looks challenging.
Just downloading the paintkit (89 MB!) of Hovercontrol Jordan Moore's awesome 412... :jump:

Beautiful work! I love Twotters, with any luck the Canadian Air Force can be convinced to replace our nearly 40-year-old examples with brand new Guardian 400 examples.

Are you talking about the one's with the Glass Panel? I know I saw a report on my desk somewhere on this. Premier Aircraft did Twotter 400's with glass panels I think. Gonna have to look.

Markus to my knowledge they are configured straight floats. Usually that twotter assigned float is switched config down at the Water Aerodome and reconfiged to ski. I'll check with our Maint. men for clarity on this.

Brand new builds, new avionics, more powerful engines... many upgrades. The Guardian version can also be fitted with a radar, electro-optical turret, searchlight and external stores stations. There is an aft drophatch fitted as well. It's a major upgrade in capability.

13802 on final!

The major work is done!
Just added some little eye-candy such as exhaust areas (I love them!) and fire extinguisher markings. Note the 440 Sq. crest on the fin.
The black (taped?) leading edge areas of the wing struts unfortunately had to be omitted, the texture mapping is quite weird (mirrored) there.

No I'll tinker on the floats, they still look too slick to me.

Cheers,
Markus.

Ah thank you sir. You didnt forget the bat on the tail. Aerosoft forgot the bat, but you and Bushpilot who did a CAF SAR 440Sq Kodiak didnt forget Thank you:icon29:.

Well, I saw pics of 440 Sq. Twotters at airliners.net in current scheme without this bat, so it doesn't have to be wrong. Earlier pics even show some kind of blue circle instead, dunno what this was...

Done!

The Twotter is on his way!
Uploaded to flightsim and SOH.

Straight float version included:

If you feel the need to attach amphibious floats (PAD 'C-FOPI' water bomber version) to it: The respective float textures are also included.

Cheers,
Markus.

FS2004 Canadian Forces CC-13802 Twin Otter. Repaint for the Premaircraft DHC-6 short nose Twin Otter, depicting the Canadian Forces CC-138 02 in the current yellow rescue scheme. Works with wheeled and float version. These are texture files only; prior installation of the base pack CC-138 UN version DH6_UN.ZIP (on wheels) and/or DHC6-300 Twin Sea Otter C-FGON (Air Labrador) DH6_FGON.ZIP (floats) required. This repaint was made using the paint kit by Premaircraft, adding some panel lining and a subtle weathering and shadowing. The real 13802 is assigned to No. 440 Squadron at Yellowknife, NWT. By Markus Hellwig.

And - of course - at SOH too.

Have fun!

Fully works Fs9 and a surprise it loves FSX as well. Markus the pic with the 440Sq badge makes a perfect thumbnail.

Excellent job, Markus!:applause:

Since you already have that bucket of yellow paint handy, would you consider applying some of it to Henry Tomkiewicz's AI Twin Otter? Sure would be nice to have 440sq as AI at CYZF!

The model and paintkit are available here:

Thanks again!
