A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: This is Part I of the 20th Fighter Group campaign, reconfigured for full auto-install. This package contains all of the aircraft required for the 20th Fighter Group campaign. In this package, you will find all aircraft and repaints required for this campaign, which I also use in numerous other ETO campaigns. The aircraft in this package include the aircraft and repaints of Brunosk, David Copley, Sopwith Chameleon, Morton, Shessi, Ted Kaniuka, Allen, The B24 Guy, ChrisN, Akemi, Paul Rebuffat, RobH, and PF Burnage. There is also a P-51b Mustang modified by Captain Kurt specifically for this campaign.

This is the first part of the 20th Fighter Group campaign. The last package downloads will include the actual mission / campaign files, as well as the required objects, ships, and scenery. These two packages are intended to greatly lessen the workload of the user, thereby allowing them to install the numerous parts needed for this campaign with the minimal amount of downloads possible, and also to minimize the risk of any objects being left out.

This is the second part of the 20th Fighter Group campaign. This package will include the actual mission/campaign files, to go along with the required objects, ships, and scenery. Good evening,

Before going to bed this evening, I used the "Click Team" .exe creator to re-configure the 20th Fighter Group campaign for full auto-install. It is now broken into two parts: Aircraft, and everything else. Both packages have their own auto-installer. All you are required to do is run the installer into your CFS2 installation or a folder of your choice.

In the second package, there are specific things you will want to do to make the final adjustments before flying, but these are very minor. Even with a "virgin" ETO install, you should be up-and-running within 30-60 minutes of downloading both packages, as long as you have the ETO base scenery installed.

There are only seven items you need to download which contractually I could not include: Lindsay Watt's objects and trees, two ship packages, and two sets of AI bombs. Everything else is included and ready to go.

I did make a couple of changes as well...

1) I included the new CD airfield objects, reworked by Allen.

2) I included the new JHS_Germany package, with the added airfield of Innsbruck and a relocated Wezlow and Memmingen.

3) I included the overhauled Bf-109s by Captain Kurt and the overhauled Fw-190s by Team Daedalus.

Enjoy!

Rami,

Thank you for all your efforts. I really enjoy your campaigns and now your making them easier to install. :very_drunk:

Hooray

Thanks for this - I'll make a whole new ETO install to try this. What a great gift to newcomers and all us old dinosaurs - and what a huge effort from your side this must have been. THANK YOU RAMI but also a wholehearted thank to all the creators of the goodies included here.

Awesome Andrew, I think that will make a great campaign package just a little bit more immersive and enjoyable. :very_drunk:

Hi Andrew,

I thought you might enjoy some of the period color photos of the 20th FG from my collection. The last is actually an FSX model but is done so well I thought I would include it too.

Kurt,

Thanks...sigh..those pics just remind me that I only did half of the 20th Fighter Group's story.

By the way, did you get my e-mail about the 354th campaign?

Important note...Shadow Wolf 07 tested my auto-installer on a virgin CFS2 install and noticed a couple of glaring problems.

1) I missed an aircraft, the "Jabo" version of the Team Daedalus Fw-190a-5, with the JG 26 skin: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=54&id=18348

This means that right off the bat, the first two missions would not load.

2) The auto-installer program doesn't like blank folders, so half of the ships installed for the campaign (VN ships, Bruno's ships, and the AF landing craft) wouldn't load. Accordingly, I added some "dummy folders" with a placeholder in these folders so the installer wouldn't eradicate them.

Because of this, I made two new .exe files for Parts I and II and uploaded the packages back into the library.

This is why I loathe auto-installers...sigh. :banghead:

For me it worked fine, save from the missing plane, but I had it and just put it in. I havn't come very far (but got killed two times already) but so far it seems to work right from a fresh version of your ETO. But the package in the library should be the updated version? If so, please make it say so. Once again, a big THANK YOU.

Finn,

The folder problem might be a Windows 7 thing. At any rate, I noted that they are "corrected" in the library now.
