• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

A solution before things get real confusing?

As it stands currently in the forum hierarchy. Forum/the Simulators/Prepar3D

Now it gets real confusing :dizzy:

As Prepar3D v2 is the main topic these days, and considering problems (or what have you) from the rest of the Prepar3D previous releases, are also in the mix of the forum, things are getting out of hand. At the rate this forum is getting cluttered with similar posts of, "I installed (insert addon name here), this section is going to be real confusing in short term. In fact, it already is.

I feel Lionheart (or someone) needs to look into creating another sub-forum (or several) for a possible remedy. Prepar3D v2 specific perhaps, or other child categories like a Prepar3D v2; HELP section, "Addons with install issues". As far as posts relevant to previous releases of Prepar3D v2 are concerned, they're stagnant. Or eventually will be for those who follow this new simulator.

Some of my modeling experience comes to play here.

Something needs to be done. Because the hierarchy is going to explode and this section will self destruct.

For that matter some Icon Descriptors (P3dv1.2/P3Dv1.3/P3D1.4/P3dv2) or the like that could be selected during the time of posting would help alleviate some of the troubles.

Hey OleBoy,

I understand your point of view on this. We ended up doing that at FSDeveloper.com.

For now, if we have issues, we'll need to just ask, say what type, or add it to the post title on our own. We can perhaps do a 1.4 section as a child or off-branch of P3D. I consider the P3D room to now be mostly V2 users. There is probably only 1 or 2 people I am thinking that use 1.4 anymore. (Pure guesstimation here). 1.4 is slipping away at a good rate. When 2.1 comes out, I think most all 1.4 people will be gone. The 1.4 SDK will be in full use as it can run its models in 1.4, FSX, and V2, but the sim use itself (not the SDK) is probably mostly all V2 now.

I'm still running 1.4 (and very happy with it) since an upgraded rig to run 2.0 isn't in the cards for me. So ad me to the one or two (Three now) running 1.4.
