A spring evening flight

Nice shots!

If you want to fly the LSK's L-39 realistically, fly it from either Bautzen or Peenemünde. The former was the airfield of the LSK's pilot school where students got basic jet training before transitioning to Rothenburg for MiG-21 training. Peenemünde on the other hand not only hosted JG-9 (with MiG-23s....*Drool*) but also ZDK-33 who were responsible for target simulation for fighters or AAA.

Getting Peenemünde into FSX in a late '89/early '90 state is quite a huge dream of mine. But only after I've made a FSX-native Flogger. :icon_lol:

Reminds me, I have been to Peenemünde in 1992, that was shortly after the airbase got abandoned. Lots of aircraft and stuff was standing around, a lot of Mig-23s (also drool...) and others. Wild times!

Cheers.

Now I'm jealous. Would've killed to see that stuff in person.

Thanks to the stupid imposed cutbacks after the reunification the Bundeswehr got rid of the eastern equipment really fast. Even absolutely uselful marvels like the Hind got canned after two or three years.

I must get that plane soon and fly it!

My goodness, so many posts and positive feedback. It must be one amazing bird.

In the meantime you can fly Iris' FS2004 freeware MiG-27....which doesn't look to shabby in FSX.:)

I tried that one and I think the lack of functionality of the VC put me off a bit.

Anyways, should I ever finish the dork, a later Flogger and a ground-attack Flogger are sharing the top place on my list with the Tin Mouse.
