This is nothing new to me..also on past we catch many from that websites that exchanged our product as ACTUALLY happens with our last product. For this reason we Asked the cancellation of our account at SIM-OUTHOUSE.COM because member's conduct + many others things.
So you will never find a post about product or something else there, it's a place we will avoid accurately.


i had many discussion this week about our pirated product, this post at sim-outhouse.com shows the evidence of what we are talking about, we have cancelled an account with them...is not a place to exchange news and talk about models but to exchange between pirates...proud not being anymore member there

This i belive is a prime example of how a developer shouldnt act with situations of piracy! If he was concerned about his product being ripped off he should have provided the evidence of this to the admins and if it wasnt ripped off then admit it was a mistake. Making comments like this doesnt help with this situation nor his reputation...

What is strange, is he cited a post that was unrelated to his allegations. If they wanted to work within the FS community, why didn't they provide the asked for evidence?(Non-existant!)

I also want to thank the SOH staff for the admirable way they have handled this situation and others like it also.:applause: ...Don

Evidence? How could there be, when it wasn't even close to being a rip (readily apparent to anyone who has spent any time at all modeling). The problem for Icarus was that a superior product was produced and then to add insult to injury was released as freeware! Certain payware developers take a dim view of freeware projects that are intruding/conflicting with their own similar projects, thereby decreasing sales.

That does seem a bit extreme and as a developer I do not see how SOH can be held responsible for the conduct of its members away from the forum. Free speech about products in my opinion is invaluable - good or bad and we all take flack at times. What people say and think and what they actually achieve are two very different things and I have been a member of a local club (rugby) for 28 years and thought I knew everybody that frequents the place but in the past crimes have been committed in the premises (petty theft like phones nicked etc) and I would not even begin to try and work out who are the culprits because it would mean suspecting almost everybody. Nor will I also stop using the place because of a minor few who have no morals - it has served me well in the past and undoubtedly will in the future. I just feel sorry for the victims and contempt for the thief’s.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

regardless of the less than sane actions of Icarusgold, I would like to mention something here regarding the pirating of the Corsair Volume III Pack.

It seems that a dear friend of mine whom I've know for years now has been banned. Allegedly for pirating the pack.

Now, this person has served most of his working life in the USN and is a Vietnam veteran. He is fiercely patriotic and religious. He would never ever be involved in lewd acts like piracy. His religion, mindset and set of values simply don't permit that. I'm not even thinking of his wife. She would simply kill him... Mama (that's what we call her) teaches Sunday Bible Class...

Moreover, he doesn't have the skills needed to pirate stuff and he rarely buys payware. He makes do with the freeware that is available, and when funding permits he buys something he really wants. Like all of us.

Even after his military career, he keeps on working as a civilian in the USN. In other words, this person keeps on serving his country.

And now he gets banned for something he didn't do. Needless to say that I'm deeply saddened by this. The injustice is horrible...

I sincerely hope that the staff of SOH will do their utmost to put this straight again!

If you are referring to whom I think you are Ian, and not even touching on the potential of responsibility for any pirating of RAZBAM products at all, I think 650+ posts and a ranking as a 'senior member' alone, on a pirated-product link-sharing web site, I think makes him one of 'them', despite whatever home-life or service-career that individual has....(oh yeah, and he needs to learn how to spell my last name correctly when posting on that site!)

And on the whole topic of Icarus, that is completely unrelated to anything in this thread, for the simple matter that what he is claiming and referring to SOH as being, is just absurdly insane. Anyone, I hope, can easily see straight through as to why he would make such childish, immature comments about this site (and even about a certain member here in particular <-), not related what-so-ever to the discussions here on pirating.

That is harsh John. Very harsh even. I'm pretty sure this person was singled out by mistake.

And quite honestly, I think it is shameful how little respect is shown here for a Vietnam veteran!

Without all of the facts there's no way this can keep going like it's starting to. I personally was not a party to the investigation as that happens on a level above me. I'm afraid this one has run it's usefull course.
