Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

A1R Ryan SCW released in Marketplace

Not much buzz about this airplane - I haven’t bought it yet and was wondering about reviews yet it’s just crickets.
Anyone have it ?
Released two days ago and it’s native 2020 but A1R claims it works in 2024 as well.
Does anyone here have it?
There is this fine video review

Oh man, I wasn't aware of that release, and I'll definitely be picking it up today - thank you for the heads-up! I love the Ryan SCW, and A1R always knocks it out of the park with their aircraft - always absolute highest quality.

I’ll definitely grab it when it hits 2024. Even if a plane works in 2024, Marketplace purchases wont show up until MS processes the files. So I’m hoping this will show up this week for 2024.

I'm a fan of A1R too - they model unusual and early aviation aircraft of significant quality. I'll be getting it soon as well, be sure

ok - I guess 'soon' = today in this case.
It's a beauty right out of the box just as their Ryan STA was.
I usually wait a few weeks, see what the reviews are like and maybe after a patch or two but...anyway - glad I picked it up. She's a beauty

Love it, but I have no idea where to install the folder in 2024? I first installed it in Official 2020 and never found it. then installed it in the Community folder, again with no results when finding it. Ergo I deleted the folder from both 2024 folders and like everyone else, I'll just wait on the official MSFS 2024 download. It's a beauty in 2020, but I have such limited time to fly, I find myelf flying in 2024 more because I get smoother fps through my rig in 2024. I get 60 fps in each sim, but in 2020 I get occasional stutters (I guess when the Rolling Cache loads) that never occur in 2024. So far, 2024 has been very smooth with all turned to Ultra.

Edited: I also loved MSFS 2024 because of its fast loading time. I am a pretty impatient fellow (always have been, three words never existed in my life: slow, stop, and wait)!

Oops, either MS posted the plane after I made my previous post, or I just missed it behind all of the MScenery "Professional" (HAH!) 747s in the list. At any rate, just bought it on the 2024 Marketplace.

@Cazzie, I assume you bought this on Marketplace, since unlike A1R's earlier planes I don't see it on SimMarket. If you bought it on 2020, go to Marketplace from the 2020 Home screen, then click "My Library." Search for Ryan in the search box, and make sure the ST-A is enabled. If you bought it on 2020, it might not be enabled by default. No manual file copying/etc is required.

So this one is only sold through the marketplace ?
If so, could anybody tell me if the copilot can be made visible in the virtual cockpit ? (internal view)

Yes, so-far I've only seen it available through the Marketplace.

From my experience, the copilot doesn't load in the internal view, and there is no option to do so. Externally, the copilot and pilot always remain present, no matter if there is weight selected for their positions or not (for static ground shots, you can get the pilot and copilot to disappear temporarily by pausing the sim from the internal view, and then going to the external view where they won't display until you un-pause.)

In addition to the visuals, my favorite part of this product are the engine sounds, which have a good amount of bass/throatiness (which seems lacking in a number of other 3rd party addons). I just love hearing it idling, which sounds like an old motorcycle. The flight dynamics are so-so, in my opinion - so-far, the flight characteristics just don't exude much if any character to me - it feels a bit too easy/too light on the controls, too balanced and too quick to respond to control inputs for an aircraft of its era. I have no way yet of knowing, though, how accurate the flight model may or may not be. As I've said before, I absolutely love the model, textures, and sounds.

Thanks a lot John.
I prefer to avoid the planes in which the copilot is not visible, because I enjoy that presence a lot in my flights, especially when flying small aircraft (C152 and such) in small airfields.
Maybe they'll add it in future updates, so I'll keep my eyes on this. This aircraft is quite beautiful, but for the moment, the Swift will keep fulfilling my needs :)
