Aerostar Bonus – MSFS2020 Version
By popular request from our community, you asked for it and we listened, we’ll also be providing a MSFS2020 version of the Aerostar. This means our loyal MSFS2020 users will be able to enjoy the same high-fidelity Accu-Sim experience and systems depth, tailored to the MSFS2020 platform, at no extra cost.

  • Included free with the MSFS2024 product download for all existing customers.
  • Development is already underway.
  • Some features native to MSFS2024 (like walkaround and dynamic dirt/wear visuals) will not be available in MSFS2020, but the MSFS2020 version will include the full Accu-Sim fidelity and systems depth wherever the platform supports it.
  • We may use a light Early Access model for this version, similar to the 2024 release.

Sigh. I hate it when the market splits. Means development time goes into supporting two sims instead of more products for the newest sim.

(I know MS brought this on themselves with the rocky 2024 launch. Hopefully, given how good SU3 is overall, SU4/5 will get things solid enough soon that only a small percentage of people who just don’t upgrade will stick with 2020 after this year.)

Now do think it's that bad, this shows that converting something back from MS2024 is not so difficult then some developers claim.
Even A2A claimed first that it's impossible to convert it back and... now they do.

Show also that MSFS2024 is still not fully developed.

Also noticed that since i bought MSF2024, i own now several planes in MSFS2022 which i never bought...

The conversion is doable, but that doesn't mean it's not work that holds back features from the FS2024 version because of the conversion effort and the need to keep two versions up-to-date.

Oh well. FS2024 is nearly there for free flight (only the photogrammetry LODs are a serious issue in SU3), so hopefully the vast majority of y'all will move forward later this year and the "dual versions" development can end.

(I know some people will stubbornly stick with 2020 no matter what. I remember seeing folks making freeware planes for FS2004 a decade after FSX shipped.)

Anyway, glad y'all will be able to enjoy the Aerostar, and you won't have to do the stupid "it was fun maybe twice" FS2024 walkaround.

FS2020 still has plenty of life left in it and its stable. We waited years for some of the models finally come to fruition now all of the sudden, there is a big race to force us to move into the new sim platform and leave behind a lot of models and scenery which frankly FS2024 should have been held back at least 3 to 4 years to get it up to speed which again, it's still in development which reinforces my former point of reasoning for many of us here. I also think MS and Asobo have dropped the ball in providing a smoother more seamless transition for models and scenery upgrades/development between the two sims. I digress. Development off addons and the sim platforms takes a lot longer these days and in my opinion, the optics of progression need to follow more realistic timelines.

Know quite a few that have no desire to go to 2024. Some of the key things they do not care for...

1. UI interface
2. Walk around mode
3. Career mode

Agreed. I don't see paying for things I'll never use. And as I understand it (I could be wrong), yes, you can now download most of the content to the local 'puter, but they're still encrypted - no tweaking allowed to adjust steering and such...

I have less than an hour in an Aerostar many, many years ago. They are FAST! Everything happens quickly. You have to be way ahead of the plane all the time. Beautiful planes, but very small inside. Very tight. This will be in the hangar.

Don BP;)

Just to correct some misconceptions...

1. The vast majority of FS2020 planes and sceneries now work fine in FS2024.
2. There is no mandatory usage of walk-around or career modes. :)

I get why y'all don't want to change. At the same time, a split ecosystem is bad for everyone, users and developers alike, so hopefully down the road y'all won't end up like those guys still flying FS2004 nowadays. :) For me, even though I don't use the walkaround or career mode, the rock-solid no-stutter performance and significantly improved low-level visuals more than compensate for issues with a tiny percentage of incompatible add-ons.

But this is way off-topic, so here's a pic of the A2A Aerostar in FS2024 sitting at an FS2020 airport to get us back to the subject at hand. :)

Tell you what: you go ahead and buy it for me and I'll switch. Until then, how about you scoot over to the 2024 board and leave us alone? Are you just here to troll the people who don't want to or can't afford to switch? Why not go to the CFS boards and tell them to go to War Thunder or something? God, you're tiresome.

I was just thinking about the old FSX v FS9 discussions earlier today. Back then I bought FSX having never been party to any previous MS flight sim so I didn't understand the fuss - but realized pretty quickly that there were folks who had spent real time and money on FS9 and a lot of it just wouldn't work in FSX - especially after the Acceleration Pack addon, so I learned to appreciate those who delayed or just never migrated.
In this case I bought FS2024 pre-release and I had never done that before. Now I see what those FS9'ers were saying even more clearly. For all that FSX was there was a LOT that it wasn't. Same is true here with MS2024. For some of us it's just not improvement enough to go through the changes.
I'm staying in 2020 for now and I figure it's just a matter of personal choice. Nothing is falling apart. Just every now and then an individual or two suggest that it is but it's just folks having differing opinions.

I also bought the prerelease but maybe i'll skip 24 all together and wait for 28 to arrive. I don't know. I never skipped a version since fs95. I did skip win- millenium though.
