A2A Civil P-51 Released & Core Update 1.5

Yes, the core update 1.5 is available indeed.... but at 5 kb/sec, I think I'll wait a few days before trying to download it. :isadizzy:

Very nice of them to offer $10 off if you already own the WoP military P51.
Plus no additional Accu-Sim purchase for the civilian, if you already have the military P-51 Accu-Sim, it uses that one.
Most excellent! :applause:

Thanks... what if I don't get the accusim... is it still worth it? Also anyone have shots with RXP GNS430W in the 2D panel slot?

Thought I would post some instructions on copying paint schemes from the Military to Civil P-51.
I will use Thunder Horse - N42TH as an example.

Navigate to WOP3_P51D aircraft folder. Locate desired texture folder...ie texture.N42TH. Copy this folder, then navigate to WOP3_P51D_civ aircraft folder and paste. Open the copied texture.n42TH folder. Custom interior texture from military schemes..ie Lady Alice, aren't compatible in the civil model due to the cockpit differences. If your texture folder has P51_c1, c2, c3, c4.dds textures, remove these. You may want to remove pilot_T.dds if it exists as well.

For Aircraft.cfg entry. You will have to change the model entry to Civ. You may also want to change title and variation entries to avoid duplicate aircraft listings.

Here are example aircraft.cfg entries for N42TH, note the differences.

You could also delete all the textures and edit the texture.cfg to point the same scheme in the military version, but if that scheme has custom interior files, it won't look good lol.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

To be consistent with the A2A 'title=' convention for the civ P-51d, that title entry should read:

title=P-51D civ Thunder Horse

The inclusion of the "civ" immediately following the P-51D allows the use of separate profiles for control
functions in FSUIPC4 for the mil and civ versions, using the "ShortAircraftNames=Yes" option.
