Hiya,

Almost finished, only some little tweaking to do and writing the readme etc.

Marcel

Absolutely fabulous, Marcel ! Great job well done! Thank you very much !! :applause: :encouragement: :applause:

Now, with the hard work done, what are your plans ? Stop or have some more fun with it ? Would be a bit of a waste not to, don't you think ?...

For one thing, what's your stance towards " what if " ?..... I.e. "what if" KLM took their L-049's along into the 749 white roof livery scheme era ? Would open up the chance to commemorate our beloved N749NL over at Lelystad too... Just a thought. ;-)

Thanks a lot again for your wonderful work on the KLM Connie, Marcel !

Cheers,
Jan

I was recently doing some reading on the XF-11 program, and I couldn't help but notice what was trying to steal the spotlight in this photo:

I second that on both accounts. Great job on the "The Flying Dutchman" livery... and I would love to see the N749NL at the Aviodrome in Lelystad come to live in the virtual world, even as a "what if", :applause::jump:

and a MATS version:

nice, its a shame about the texture shrinkage as you get closer to the nose, as it limits so may possible paints, there was another MATS scheme i was trying to do but way the nose was mapped, it had me walk away for now and ponder

but anyway youve done well

and a MATS version:

Well done, Jan Kees !

But if you allow me to make a suggestion.. wouldn't you agree that the all black nose doesn't fit the L-049 very well because it's so bulbous ? On the radar nosed 749 the black radome looks good, even adds to the beauty of the 749, because it's much longer and very much tapers towards the end. I bet your MATS 049 Connie is going to look much better if you leave the nose bare metal or fit it with the small radar area at the very front.

Just a suggestion, Jan Kees, if you say go sit on the roof with a bunch of unions i'll understand. :D

Will be great to see the MATS livery on this beauty in any case !

Beautiful ! :applause:

You could make that an L-049 just the same, Happy. Boston, Logan 1958. Serial N90816. No worries about the paint around the back. :)

Agree with Jan, also note the MATS did get some short-nosed C-121 in the beginning.

Regards,

Marcel

Planning indeed to do some more KLM schemes, even L-749 ones. However taking a small brake to do some more easier liveries.

Marcel
