A2A Mk 1 Spitfire

Just wondering if there are any repaints for the A2A Spitfire. I have checked Avsim and Flightsim but none seem to be available at both sites.

hi - there is one somewhere but I cant remember where I saw it - sorry :mixedsmi:

As a slight warning, while the repaints will work perfectly fine with the FSX update of the Spitfire, you will have to rename the files in order for them to work. Simply look in the default texture folder of the A2A Spitfire, and you will be able to see what the names should be changed to.

If you download all of the repaints from the previous links, you will have 13 new schemes. I believe I had counted 16 at one time installed on my machine, so there might still be a few more out there.

John is right; I have repaint in the colours from the Mk Vc flown by Clive Caldwell and an additional Mk.Ia repaint from a 610sqn aircraft. I think both came from the Avsim library, which is currently down.

Cheers,

When you are British, you might like this repaint by Chris Brisland. It avaialbe at Flightsim.com. Just do a search on 'spitjack'.

The 610 squadron Spitfire is available at Flightsim as well. It was done by Matthew Ivey and the file name is 'dwk3029.zip'.

Enjoy,

Thanks for the download sites. Installed two of repaints as instructed in the read me file. However, when doing a preview of the Spit repaint and also flying the aircraft, the textures are black. I am using FSX with the Acceleration update and DX 10 is not checked. Any ideas?

Rewasiuk, all of the repaints were originally released for FS2004, but as I outlined in my previous post, the FSX model update uses the same texture formats, only that they are named differently. So, what you will need to do, is rename the four texture files contained within the repaints, to the new naming system for the FSX model. Also, make sure to copy and paste the Texture.cfg file from the default texture folder, into all of the repaint folders, so that the rest of the textures show.

The following repaint files will have to renamed as shown below...

Spit1 -> Spit1_T
Spit2 -> Spit2_T
Spit3 -> Spit3_T
Spit4 -> Spit4_T

I hope this will help you out!
