The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation turns to A2A Simulations to create the official flight training program for their Boeing C97 "Angel of Deliverance"

The Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation currently flies their Douglas C54 "Spirit of Freedom" across North America and abroad, and is in the process of bringing their beautiful Boeing C97 "Angel of Deliverance" to flying condition. The Boeing C97 is a large 4-engine, medium to long range, high altitude, and high speed military transport similar to the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser commercial transport. A2A Simulations is now partnered with the Berlin Airlift and is the official developer for their new "Accu-Simulator" which is based on the Wings of Silver Boeing 377 Stratocruiser with the Accu-Sim expansion pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. We support the mission of the fine people at the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation, to teach and remind the world of the true spirit of freedom.

But does this mean you are going to release a C97 version for the general public?

Wow, that would be outstanding if so, as my father piloted a KC97 with SAC in the late fifties. I have a real 'soft spot' for this bird because of it...and have finally had the time to put some hours in the 377 over Christmas break (flying it in AF colors, thanks to Mr Doran).

Interestingly enough, I found this link to the squadron my father was in at Lockbourne outside of Columbus. What makes it even more 'neat' for me, is that my father (an Architect as profession following the AF), designed the green and white squadron patch shown in the link. Imagine my surprise to see it on this web site :mixedsmi:

Also neat to see some of his air force buddies (in the photos, especially Ron Vargo who was a family friend for years), some who I knew following their AF careers.

Now it would be very cool to listen or read what Tim has to say about the 377. All the goods and bads about it, but I will lay money that there is more good than bad.

Thumbs up for all you do for the flight sim world, thank you!:applause::applause::ernae::applause::applause:

How exciting and fun. I sit here and think how cool it would be to be apart of what you guys are doing. Enjoy the experience and keep us in the loop.

Bkeske,

This recent visit was to research the differences between their specific C97 and our 377. We are starting by making arrangements to the front pilot's panel and rear engineer's panel and then add in a loadout manager for their C97.

They have started flying the Accu-simmed 377 and we’re getting good feedback already, so while we continue to listen to them and continue to customize this for their needs, we are certainly not against packaging the official training software once this is completed.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Great news Scott, if that happens. Thanks for that info. So far, I have only flown the 377 in AF colors, so this would be outstanding. Even more so, I congratulate you guys for getting involved in this effort. Great stuff.

OFF TOPIC: I have been trying for months to access your forums as a registered forum member, and just tried again recently as I've been flying the 377 (C97 :icon_lol: ) quite a bit recently, but never get a confirmation email. If you, or someone from A2A could help me out, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.
