Man, this one poses a tough dilemma for me. P-40 not really my cup of tea, but absolutely love all the accusim attention to detail. Dwelling......dwelling some more.....
Jankee's doesn't make it any easier with his magnificent paints too. All that's missing is some fantastic video from Cody now
Truly looks great!
Matt

The video on the first post of this topic is a Jaggyroad Films video mate, filmed by yours truly. I hope you like it and it gives you some different perspectives of the aircraft. Also, don't forget Scott's systems rundown video which is available on the product page. All that's missing is some fantastic video from Cody now

It"s another quality model from A2A but I find the sound level inside is too muted, to get any sense of being there I have to set the volume very high, which isn"t so good when you pop outside. I thought maybe the headphones option was set default, but switching that made things a lot quieter.
Also i find the rough engine noises at low throttle do not transition to the cockpit sounds, so it"s quite surprising when you hear them outside.
LOL! Sorry mate. I appreciate the kind words.
I think I myself may be looking to find a nice model kit or otherwise of the P-40B/C. Suggestions?

A lot of people have been commenting about this on their forums.. Scott says that is the way the 40 sounds from the cockpit, and I'd take his word for that. My personal preference is I'd rather have the sound the way it is in real life vs louder just so there is something loud to listen to in the pit. This is something FS Dev's have been trying to overcome for years, and something PMDG talks about frequently. How people expect to hear certain things when in reality you wouldn't, so developers put sounds in that otherwise wouldn't be there. Granted I have never sat in/started one of these warbirds in real life. Seeing them at various airshows however they are much quieter than I ever expected the first time I saw any of the V-12 types start and taxi past those of us in the crowd. I bought & downloaded it yesterday but still have not installed/flown it. So I guess I will see how quiet it is then. From the last video Scott posted all I could really hear in his VC view was the supercharger. Which is fine by me. On a side note did you try flying with the canopy open?I used to do that a lot when the P-47 first came out. Now I find myself using the earphone button. Same in the B-17. Spitfire is actually quiet enough where you don't need the headphone button, but probably because you have the fuel tanks between the engine and the cockpit to provide a makeshift sound barrier.
