• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

A2A Simulations F-4 Phantom. Any updates on progress?

J79 howl was very different, especially on idle or "taxi idle". I agree, Speys were louder on higher settings.

I remember as a 14 year old watching an F-4M do it's display at RNAS Culdrose and discovering in afterburner the Speys appeared to operate at my stomachs resonant frequency!

Memories of sitting on the end of Valley's runway while 74 sqn were on APC there. My brother quite selfishly spoiled the fun by letting his eardrum get perforated so we had to watch from a distance after that.

I remember the first few times I saw the Phantom at Atsugi Japan. I thought who in the heck designed that beast? Dihedryl anhedryl go figure. It did not take long while on the Vq's ramp to fall for the girls. When they cranked up and took off, it would send a chill up my spine. Today, this is still one of my all time favorites.
