Aerocrate Albatros Skins

Ian Astill

Hi All,

Have recently been putting together a WW1 install. Really enjoying the available stuff and it's coming together fast. However I'm a little gutted as there are many very fine looking skins for the albatros D3 and D5 models. However there has obviously been an update and none of them seem to be compatible.

I'm wondering if there are skins for the newer models knocking round or if the old model is available (and would there be a massive trade off in performance etc by 'downgrading')

Also looking for a Bristol F2B fighter!

Cheers
Ian

I have done three for the D V.

One is of Udets - "Ernst Udet's Albatros D V of his Jasta 37 bird in September of 1917. This maybe the plane in which he had his duel with Georges Guynemer."

The second is Osterkamp's - "Theo Osterkamp's Albatros D V of 1917. As there are no pictures, this is a fictional texture based on two descriptions of his aircraft." he also may have had a duel with Guynemer.

The last is Sachsenberg's - "Gotthard Sachsenberg Albatros D V of mid 1917."

Both Osterkemp's and Sachsenberg's represent MFJ I aircraft.

They can be found at SimV, The Free Flight Site and LWDesign's.

If you want a template for repainting, I have a multilayered one for Paint Shop Pro.

till later
John

RobH did quite a few superb skins for the Aerocrate D.III; D.V and the Dr.I. if that's what you might be looking for, They are here in the Warbird Archives under RobH.

I think the D III skins may also be of the older mosel but not sure.RobH made them a little after I did some skins for it.

You're right Talon. I think the skins here are for Albatros D.III V06.09.28. Just trying to be helpful.
