Aeromarine 39B released at Simviation.com

Its in roughly, her 1941-43 configuration. Fighting Mary was the only US Dreadnought to go through WW.II substantally unaltered from her pre war appearence, only gaining improved fire control, secondary and tertiary batteries, and loosing her aft bird cage mast by 1943. Rough, alpha export, wrap textures, crude mapping- as usual - at this point, but a period escort for now.

Hello,

I have downloaded from simviation the new version of the 39B. Now thw windshield is transparent in VC and in exteroir view. I even have been able to land on an aircraft carier. The slow speed characteristic of the airplane, made this carrier trap easy. The aircraft flew around 60 knots and the ship sail at arout 30 knots.

Thank for shearing with us the aeromarine 39B aircraft model.

Benoit

The average speed of the Langley was only 10 knots when Godfrey de Chevalier and the aeromarine 39B made is first landing on it.

If the wind come up you will see that is not so easy check the video on youtube. :mix-smi:

Period Fleet Destroyers

I think this should work better. Maryland is too far from being workable. Had lots of these guys going at once, ran nice and smooth re FPS
Sorry 'bout the 'orrid spelling. No, not a stroke. I flail away one handed at the keyboard and correct the spelling latter.
As part of this weeks comedic cavalcade of cascading catastrophes, the SOH interface has not been allowing edits.

FSX AI USS Clemson class fleet Destroyers

The Clemson class was a series of 156 destroyers which served with the United States Navy
from after World War I through World War II. The Clemson-class ships were commissioned
by the United States Navy from 1919 to 1922, built by Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company,
New York Shipbuilding Corporation, William Cramp and Sons, Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Mare Island Naval Shipyard,
Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Bath Iron Works, some quite rapidly. The Clemson class was a minor
redesign of the Wickes class, and was the last pre-World War II class of flush-decker destroyers to be built for
the United States. Until the Fletcher-class destroyer, the Clemsons were the most numerous class of destroyers
commissioned in the United States Navy, and were known colloquially as "four-stackers" or "four-pipers."

Clemson class AVP bgl by Earl Watkins and Wayne Tudor for the wicked Kerama Retto Seadrome scenery. Reduced drawcalls,
cleaned out texture files, added hard deck(why not?)and converted with FSX SDK. Surplus DD's were converted to Seaplane Tenders
and Attack and Commando Transports by removing the forward boiler room and two stacks, the spaces used then for;
what we call today 'the Mission Bay'. So how do we convert the AVD back into a Destroyer? By building a new forward machinery
set out of electronium and welding it into the ships with Bianry inert pixel welding. Or we'll use the AICarriers config.
I Made a pair of Stacks, built the scale and position in, and attached default smoke. The model is set in formation
at the same position as the Up dated Clemson AVD model in the AIcarriers config file (provided). The speed and acceleration constants must be
the same for both models.

Use the provided config file for AICarriers.

Bink.Quick 1919-45 Fleet Destroyer.

I hope Mr. Watkins doesn't mind. I have Emailed him a number of time. I checked the sent messages log. The oldest ones go
back over a year.

BETA version. Update or what ever as required.
For use by Ronald Dandurand as he sees fit, and SOH members for testing ect, ect, usual dire warnings, yadayadayada, have fun.

Lazarus I love you !:applause:

DD 186, 244, 251,252, 256,328, 345 all in on package
its exactly what I need

Some DD have the same navy grey texture of my Langley, just need to add
some smoke on the stack and wave at bow,

Are you the author of this ships ?

I got my pulley :monkies:I will be able to release the Langley and mission maybe this
week end.

Its a Earl Watkins BGL model. I did the easy stuff- forward funnels model and skut work, ect. It not a 100% accurate Clemson for the 1920's, but more than close enough, as they tended to hack stuff off the Clemsons because of excess topweight rather than put stuff on them. I have had the AVD on the HD for ages, and did not clue in; AVD. DD. HEY! There's your Destroyer. Why reinvent the wheel? All the basic Clemson variants are accesable this way, as well. Has every one got any troubles with the AICarriers set up?

While Woody was adjusting the Aeromarine to allow for transparent windscreens in VC view I was flying his first version around San Diego. I noticed the national insignia on the wings were not quite round so I tweaked the "decal" dds file. Here is my version (see attachment), just unzip and drop the dds file into the aircraft's texture folder to overwrite the original. This is a great airplane and I'm really looking forward to flying aboard Woody's Langley.

Woody,

Did you incorporate the decal fix in your V3? Also I can't seem to get the Maryland to show up in AI Carriers; just the menu. I noticed that that file was pulled, was it
flawed? If you did make it work could you give me a few details on how you made it show in AI carriers. It's a cool looking ship... and thanks!

I will incorporate the decalq fix in the Langley mission, thank for the fix Richoday !

Thank also for your convertion to model of the DD 186 Lazarus, I have add smoke on stack and wave splash at bow, I have not tested the ship as Ai carrier but for the Langley mission all is ok, I will mention you and the author of this ships in my readme.

I will try my best to release the Langley and mission this week end.

Woody, I didn't mention the decal when I noticed it because you were working to fix the VC windscreen transparency and I thought it would seem like I was finding more faults with your plane. When I saw it was an easy fix I just did it for myself, but since everybody likes your plane I decided to upload it with my post for others to use. Sorry I didn't send you a private message.

Hard to Find Film

Since it's very hard to find what you are interested in at YouTube, I submit this link to a 28 Minute video called 'THE ATTACK CARRIER - FROM USS LANGLEY CV1 TO USS ENTERPRISE CVAN 65'. It is 360 dpi so it plays good (hit pause and it will 'load ahead' for less pauses, and thus, smoother play). If you have Bandicam, or Fraps, you can record it by clicking on 'screen' to play in Full Screen (only way they can record).

After all that work you guys deserve a break. :icon29:
