I wonder how prone the RW Tri-Traveller was to tipping back - it looks as if it is already angled quite far back.

I'm not sure what happened but I just flew the final tri and it doesn't fly like the one I sent in. It should not act like that.

UPDATE: I sent Tom the correct files and he is testing them and will have a free update on the site soon. Something must have happened in the packing process and the wrong file was put in place for the tri.

Tom just informed me that he is working on the airfile right now.
It will be on the Aeronca sales page at the bottom for free download in a couple of days.

Tom just told me that you can contact him personally through the CR1 website if you would like to have your replacement airfile before it gets posted.

I upgraded my computer the other day with a new MB, RAM, and Processor. My old setup was never reliable for some reason and it locked up numerous times while working on the air files. I decided to do some upgrades so I have a nice fast and reliable PC to start working on some flightsim stuff again.

Was playin with paints in the package (mix with different models)If you Please, is there any way to get a set of plain aluminum floats (no colors) so as to mix and match with paints in the package.

FUN STUFF...

PS No float .dds in paint kit I was going to see if it had plain alum

Right-click on the image below and click View Image and you should have a full-size 1024 X 1024 wire frame image of the texture for the floats DC. On about every photo I have seen of Champs with floats, the floats were unfinished metal with what appeared to be black anti-corrosive front pieces and bottoms. Save this as a guide layer when painting the floats.

I've asked for photoshop for Xmas and we'll see what Santa brings
I've heard of a free version... that I might play with and learn a bit

any idea on the freeware program name for painting

Gimp and Paint net are both worth looking at.

Roger has you covered. Of the two, I like Paint.NET better. Both will allow layers and the ability to save in either .psp (PaintShopPro) or .psd (Photoshop) format.

I agree in one, for few money we got a rich variety of airplane versions.

Although the price is really reasonable, this is not freeware and therefore a comparison with similar software like A2A Piper Cub , FR Piper Super Cub or even the old Real Air Scout must be allowed.

- Aeronca Champ Gauges are great!

But I do not understand why CR1-Software developers set wrong priorities in texturing:
- Thus the pilot figure is texturized with not less than 13 bitmaps of 5MB each, while the panel only got a simple texture of about 300x330 pixel on a 2048x2048 texture!
(Where does the user look most of the time, when flying?)
- The pilot seat consists of a 2048x2048 pixel large piece leather texture.
- The outer skin of the airframe is decently drawn however without any details and any shade. And bump mappings and specular effects also are missing.

My personal resume:
This software is generally standard, but does not meets the requirements of the ambitious armchair pilots, who wants to buy an overall good package, even for a higher price.

No Laughing allowed and this repaint in NO WAY reflects the CR1 aircraft
