AeroplaneHeaven Corsairs

I found a couple of Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Paints on Flightsim which I have on the clipped wing British model and my own messy paint for that model.

The British version had clipped wings to clear the roof of the hangar decks in British Carriers. Minor differences include the British type gunsight. The handling characteristics improved with heavier oleo legs and suspension components.

Probably no good to you as they are non US paints and a modified US model.

Thanks Rami

I got the paint from your added link.I did see two or three others as well for the AH Corsairs etc.

If anyone knows where I could find these for a considerably lower price ($120-tops), I would love to know:

The F4U-4 and F4U-5 rank very high on my list of aircraft I'd like to model for FSX, but I'd like to be able to have blue prints in hand to do so. I'm hoping that these prices come down to levels that a person like me can afford (the current prices are set the way they are, because the company is hoping that a Warbird restoration shop (that would be more inclinded to spend a lot of money) will buy a copy - that way they can make $13,000 on one sale, rather than $100 here, and $100 there). I'd also very much like to get my hands on the set of bubble-top P-47D engineering drawings they are selling, but those are going for even more! Maybe a few years from now, the prices will be reasonable...

In the mean-time, I think it would be fun to model an F2G Super Corsair, with attention to getting it right, but simply working from photographs and my own drawings.

BTW, speaking of Corsairs that are already available from FS2004, don't forgret about the "Alpha Blue Ceil" (spelling?) F4U-7, which ports quite well into FSX - it just needs the gauges carried over from FS2004, and a glass and prop texture fix (both of which are available at Flightsim.com). It's freeware, but it is very detailed and very functional in the VC.
