The Aerosoft Twin Otter was the very first payware for me in 2009. This one is clearly an improvement over the original and worth the purchase. Can't wait to see the rest of the release, especially the float models. Yes indeed, it has been raining great new payware aircraft in recent months.

There's a 1.01 update in the support section

1.01 Updates manuals
Tooltips updated
DME readout fixed
GPS brightness reduced with 65%
Possible Altimeter fix (we could not recreate)

Great aircraft :salute:

Just a HU, there's a 1.01 update available now, either as a full download or a patch via the updates section of the Aerosoft site.

edit: just beat me to it :icon_lol:

Love the DHC-6. A sentimental favorite of mine, as I grew up watching them take off and land at KAUG when I was a wee lad, and rode in the back of them when Executive Airlines became Air NewEngland in my early navy years. Love the Aerosoft version 1. Don't know how they're supposed to fly, but it sure did seem hard to get the ship to get down on the ground. Figured it was a STOL thing...

So, if I made paints for the old one, will they fit on this new one, or do I have to make new ones?

Looks Great JK  .... Now go and search for Italian Twotters and have a great time :icon_lol:<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

Nice plane, so far first take off went well, not much diferent than original except the engines behave better, second at Christchurch blew up an engine when i bumped the start switch at wrong moment, shut off fuel, used extinguisher to put fire out, lost all my passengers. Next wasnt so bad, Christchurch to Milford sound, just got that scenery too. The NAV doesnt follow DME radial correctly, i think it was mentioned before, even when mode selected on GPS, always steers to right of radial, Doesnt matter even when settled manually. ANyway sent email to support. Otherwise I love it. Sounds same as original but much nicer.

Decided to take the plunge on this one. Glad I did! The VC and model are superb, and the systems are well-modeled, although unfortunately there is no RXP integration for those so inclined.

The flight dynamics are very convincing. It could just be my setup, but I found the pitch axis to be a little too touchy. Setting the pitch stability to 1.75 in the [flight tuning] section of the aircraft.cfg seemed to help. Just a matter of personal preference, I suppose. I particularly love how the engine sounds change as you "nibble" away at beta pitch on the props during taxi. All in all, a great creation by Aerosoft!

Now if only someone would do an Allegheny Airlines or Wings Airways (old Philly commuter airline) repaint! *hint hint* :icon_lol::running:

You have to also take into account that different yokes and joysticks for different PC's have different response rates. So while it may have been fine with the developers set-up, it can feel quite different on your own. I say that because I always tweak for my set-up as you've noted as well.
