AH Hurricane PBR

Work involved in updating products to V5 is huge. Many developers will consider charging for upgrades because of this. LM , in my opinion, has rushed the HotFix release, probably due to Microsoft Flight Simulator expectations. The result is a mess, requiring significant changes to models, code and materials. Not impressed.:engel016:

Anyone managed to get this working. I've emailed AH but get no reply
Mike

It was never intended for P3Dv5, as clearly stated on the AH site.
"The Hawker Hurricane MK1 is compatible with FSX , FSX steam edition and Prepar3d Version 4.4 +
FSX : Please note some functions require the acceleration pack and will not work as intended in SP2.

P3D : Please note that the dedicated P3dV4 is PBR only. If you wish to run the Hurricane as non-pbr you will need to purchase the FSX version and install that instead."

You're not completely wrong. It's a tough situation.

At the time of the hurricane being released, V5.0 was unknown. No information whatsoever. A betting man would have put money on a version 4.6 or 4.7 but not a complete rewrite of the rendering engine , a new sky system and other "enhancements". Example on future products ( like the one coming ) we say v4.5 and V5.0 that though doesnt mean 5.1 though. interesting times!

It is compatible. It does run in V5.0 . It doesnt look like what it looks like in 4.5 and to that end we suggest that you run it in the simulator it was designed for. I will ask for the source files for this graphic and change this graphic to say 4.5 , and will look into adding a compatibility note.

Also havent received a single email on the hurricane for sometime. We have an FAQ with email addresses that consider us spam if you want to check there. I check my spam folder only once a week and other than a surprisingly large amount of russian women wanting to meet with me there's nothing in there.

To put this into context I bought the hurricane PBR for v4.5 and I'm delighted with it.
Then having upgraded P3D to V5 I reinstalled the Hurricane into V5 and discovered it didn't work. For some time I assumed the fault was mine but obviously found no solution but moreover mislead myself into believing that V4.5+ meant it was compatible but I was doing something wrong.
Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding, nothing's lost I'll just wait until it all gets sorted out.
Keep safe and well
Mike
