Indeed, and awfully good fun - question, are you using a key command to switch between crew positions since the in-cockpit switcher doesn't work?

Later - disregard, it's the instrument view quick-keys. Got them mapped to something useful in VR now haha

It does work fine in 2024, though!

Yes, that's what i read all the time and see plenty of evidence on YT as well (that's why i wonder why no word about the release of one of the most iconic warbirds here at SOH 2024... We're not closing down, are we ??....). TTMurphy does a great juxtaposition between the two in 2020 and 2024. I have yet to board my own Lank. I like getting as much info about it before doing so, build up the tension so to say. Murphy's life stream takes 4 hours... liked it every minute ;-)

For anyone interested:

Maybe that'll loosen up the lips a little bit :onthego:

In 2020 Murphy uses the Chase Plane keyboard to switch between crew sations. Works very nice indeed ! Fly-By is wonderful too, particular the Concerto for 4 RR Merlins XX V-12 in C Major Third ! ;-) Can't wait for CP to arrive in 2024 ! ( no ETA yet as far as i know..)

I think we're all just talking about it over in the 2020 forum, since it's a 2020 SDK plane.

That's going to be a bit of a challenge going forward in these forums as compatibility issues get ironed out and devs continue to develop for 2020 to have the widest possible audience (both sims) for a while. I was talking to someone who's starting work on a really cool freeware plane about where to post about development, since it'll be developed in 2020 but tested to ensure it works fine in 2024 as well.

Anyway, I've been flying the Lanc and really like it, and I haven't even tried it in 2020.

Yes, that certainly seems to be the case. That's a new situation since 40 years of flightsimming, isn't it. Probabely nobody can do anything about that, " it's what the public wants ". Period.

An even more unhappy situation (IMHO) is at Avsim where they thought good idea to put both 2020 and 2024 in the same forum. Nice. Having read 11 pages of a subject only to discover that the thread is about the FS2020 version while i thought (hoped) is was about the FS2024 version...!$%^!! (not about the Lanc, mind you. AFAIK nothing about the Lanc at avsim....)

I mean, if you ask me MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 are two pretty different flying animals ! A flightsim guru like twotone murphy uses the 2024 version for his test/review, why ? Because he thinks it's better. He does have the decency to do another test/review of the 2020 version and picks out the differences. Very considerate ! That's how it should be done. Not throw everything into one heap. Or put all your money on one version and not one cent on the other. And, if i may go one step further: the 2024 version doesn't deserve that.

I think we've really got ourselves into a bit of a mess here. Never happend with any of the former 'normal' FS iterations (Any new version got its own forum. Period.) and never happend f.i. with FSX and P3D. All neatly divided into their own specific fora. All of a sudden the whole shebang got all mixed up.

Dear Aeroplane Heaven, dear Baz, please release a native MSFS2024 version asap so we can get out of this awkward what is what situation ( and on top of that have an even better looking and performing Lancaster to enjoy ! )

I'll jump off my soapbox now.

Thank you Denny, not your fault, mate ! On the contrary ! :encouragement:

Great to know, i'll join you any day now !

Say, know a nice period UK airfield scenery with lots of static aircraft (maybe even AI ?...) as homebase for my precious Lanc ? (preferably 2024 compatible..)

Thanks again !

Please disregard ! Found 'RAF Debden'. Looks great in 2024, exactly what i had in mind. Must say i had never heard of RAF Debden so i have some reading to do. Just made my first circuit overthere in my own precious Lancaster. She's a doll ! :encouragement:

It’s worth reading through the FS2020 Lancaster topic, everything applies to using it on 2024 as well.

Including the scenery I’ve been using that has static Lancasters, RAF Bardney 1945, which works great under 2024 as well. See my post for screens and a link:
