Hey all,

AGAS 5 has uploaded a set of repaints for the ALPHASIM freeware Liberator. "These paint schemes represent B-24D & B-24J of the 319th, 320th, 321st and 400th Bomber Squadrons of the 90th Bomber Group, 5th Air Force, USAAF SW Pacific 1942-45."

Thanks for these wonderful repaints, AGAS! :wavey::friday:

Thanks guys :jump:

Just a little point....

The textures in folder " texture.J_319 BS " has a file called " B-24J_black.bmp " which is coloured olive drab. This will give your vc view an olive drab anti-glare panel on this aircraft (as per real life). The down side is that the front face of the engine cowl uses that texture a little bit as well. It's only noticeable when you zoom in....

The other J's don't have this adjustment, so if you like it copy that texture to their respective folders. If you don't like it just do the reverse.

Cheers,

Pete

info on damage textures

A point about alphasim's model you may not know....

I opened her up in a hex editor (not to mod - I was trying to track down info on one of the textures)...

...and, the model does reference damage textures (which I haven't seen utilized before). I didn't do any with this set due to time constraints, but it's something to keep in mind if anyone else is going to paint her up...

The damage texture file names are:

B-24J_1_D.bmp
B-24J_2_D.bmp
B-24J_3_D.bmp
B-24J_4_D.bmp
B-24 basecolour_D.bmp
50-50_D.bmp
B-24J_bdoors_D.bmp
B-24J_UC_D.bmp

I assume the D model will be similar.

I haven't tested it out at all, but I guess it wouldn't be too hard to make these files up with different bright colours to see if they get invoked when you shoot her up....

Cheers,

Pete
