AI Traffic off to the "Back 40"

Do you have Rob Young's ACG AI models? Those have always behaved very well for me, so it might be worth trying the BBMF pack or Duxford pack, just to test? I use particularly the Duxford and 19Sq Spitfire packs, but have worked with all of them. I've also used the WBS and A2A Mustangs and A2A B-17 as AI a fair amount, the WBS ones I think worked a little better than the A2A (WOP2, not Accu-Sim) ones.

Almost all of my AI are taildraggers, but I've very rarely seen the behaviour you describe, which is why I'm interested in resolving it.

I'll go back through the thread, get some of the models you've tried and have a go as well.

Cheers,

A Mind Of Their Own

I guess from your above much frustration...the sims have a mind of their own be they whatever---fs9, fsx-fsxse-P3D etc. Don't know about X-Plane cause I don't have it no desire, I have too much FSX stuff I paid for over time or collected free.

I can understand the frustration, definitely. I had a similar problem with the A2A WOP2 Bf109E, which has been working fine in my European airfields. I created one in North Africa, copied and edited the Caffiers file to make one for the North African field and the Bf109 would only take off and fly straight, no turns, no radio calls, it just took off, climbed away and flew off in a straight line until it despawned.

Going back to Caffiers, now the same thing was happening there, too, but that AI file was working perfectly until I copied it. Even deleting both AI files and creating new ones from scratch didn't fix it. I never have - I'm currently using the JF BoB Bf109E to populate them instead.

Thanks Ian. I've tried the Duxford Tiger Moth with the same result. In desperation I tried using the VS Stearman, but that performs a very vigorous dance on the tarmac with puffs of smoke and sparks flying whenever it touches the ground, so that's no help.

KBO!
