Air India Express B737-800 Crash

This happened much earlier but there is not a thread on the subject as of yet.

This morning an Air India B737-800 (Dubai - Mangalore) crashed upon landing at Mangalore. For an unknown reason, the aircraft overshot the runway and fell into a ravine (the runway is situated on a plateau).

The exact number of people on board the aircraft as well as the number of fatalities differs according to the news source. However, approximately 160 people were on board and there were only approximately 8 survivors.

The pilot and co-pilot were extremely experienced and familiar both on type and with the airport.

This kind of thread is always subject to intense and ridiculous speculation - let's avoid that.

I looked up and down the page about 10 times before I posted this, as well as a search.

Just having one of those moments...
