Aircraft .cfg problems <> Throw me a rope!!

Is there anyone here that can help me sort out my aircraft.cfg?

I've been working on repaints for Nate, and his Bell 407. And, I can't see them in the sim. But I can see them in FS Repaint? I don't get it.

Post a copy of the aircraft.cfg as a text document so I can take a look at it.

Not having that aircraft installed...the only thing I could see that could prevent the second and third skins from showing up is that the Title= for all three skins was the same. I have renamed the 2nd and 3rd skin in the Title= line to reflect the colors of those skins.

Well, no go. As soon as I try to load the helicopter, I get CTD. I removed the colors from where you had them, and the default White.Yellow loads as it did. But nothing else shows
 
Are the texture folders named right?

Texture.RA-01898 and Texture.D-HHBB

If they are not exactly like this..that would prevent the textures from showing.

I can't see a problem with OBIO's version so try this:

Remove the two offending entries and then just change the line:

TEXTURE=
to
TEXTURE=RA-01898

On the one that does work up to now. If that one now shows up in the new colors then there is something we're overlooking wrong with the 2nd and 3rd entries.
If it still crashes there is something wrong with the textures...could be just one of the files in the folder.

In that case he should still get an all grey spinning model though Tim

Texture folder are names exactly the same. No matter what I've tried, I can't get anything to show but [FLTSIM.0]

You are partially correct. The texture file were in BMP. I converted them as needed. But their still not showing. And I double checked everything is named accordingly :isadizzy:

OK....I finally got them to show in Fsim. OBIO was right that the color needed to be added as such ---> TITLE=HC BELL 407 Silver/Blue.

The other issue was that both the repaints I was trying to get to load, were in raw BMP form. :icon_lol:

I guess I been messing around too much with repaints. I got 4 of them going all at the same time....lol!

It's nice to have a fresh brain to do the thinking sometimes.

Glad you got it sorted..

In case it helps in future endeavours here is my quick diagnostic list.

1. Don't see the new variation in the list : Check lines title= and variation= both must be unique for that variation
2. You get only a grey 3D model in the preview window but it spins : compare line texture= abcd and folder texture.abcd they must be a perfect match texture.ab cd will not work
3. The variation is listed but as soon as you click on it the sim stops working: Check the lines sim= and model= . The .air file in the aircraft folder must match the sim= line and the model folder must either not have a name extension or if it does it must match the model= line similar to the texture= lines
