I saw that on the news. I think there was only one survivor? What a sad event.

Sad news. That is a busy area. The US has been very blessed with not having alot of collisions with as much traffic as we have.

So true! I used to practice out in the Long Beach area, and pilots are suppose to call out their positions to each other on a "student" frequency. However, since we are all students, a lot of us didn't call, or had no idea how to call out our positions. I was always very nervous flying around in that area.

One time i was doing 360 turns, and called out my position before doing the turn. Then another pilot said he was in the same location at the same altitude! WTF! I scanned all over the place and never saw him....and he never came on the radio again...scary.
