Aircraft Factory's Avro Anson MKI

I have read accounts of British bomber crew(s) that could not wear their parachute when in the aircraft, at their station. They would have to move then put on the chute to bail out.

That was true for most positions in the bomber, other than the pilot who wore a seat-type parachute. However, the harness itself was worn at all times - the parachute was quickly attached to the chest, by two clips.
