Aircraft will not start

Why is it that sometimes Im am just sitting on the active runway engine running getting ready to takeoff it just stalls, and will not restart no matter what I do until I closeout and restart FSX? Its happing more often now and with payware A/C mostly when switching between differnt A/C.Thanks for the help.

Hit Ctrl +E on your keyboard to autostart..Then give it a small bit of throttle to keep it running

this depends on which aircraft youa re flying. Some of the payware planes I own (the Alphasim T-34, and the Aerosoft Catalina) will die once you load the game if you don't do something. Please tell us which planes this is happening on.

Yes, have fuel and mixture is set, primed and boost pump and mags on to both. So far it's happening with the A2A Spitfire, ME 109 and there F4U corsair, aerosoft's H-1A and a few others I cant recall. Also have SP2 and its not the plugs loading up, as it happins just seconds into the flight, I also have the auto start button programed to to joy stick.

Hmmm....I have the A2A spitfire and Me-109, and they start up fine for me. What airport are you trying to take off from?

Make sure you turn on the generator. If the generator is off, the battery will die and shut down the aircraft.

The battery is not usually necessary to keep the engine running since the magneto ignition system is self generating. Some aircraft such as the F4U may need a little throttle till the engine warms up.

The most common issue is a empty tank. Check always under aircraft/fuel and payload. Some outfits have made the "realistic" engines quite a bit more pickey than the real ones. Airplane engines are designed to be RELIABLE.

Good Luck!!

I had the same problem after installing, then deleting, some scenery files. The deleting/uninstalling process also uninstalled (why, I don't know) the Carenado Mooney, which was my default "free flight" AC.

After reinstalling the Mooney, problems went away (crossing fingers here).
