Hey guys,

Where do you change the dimensions for the length of the fuselage in AirEd?

Baldy used the Fairey Albacore as the airfile model for the Dewoitine D.376 carrier fighter, and I am trying to give her the proper engine data, dimensions, and weight.
 
Think that is done by editing the 1205 *Horizontal Stabilizer and 1206 *Vertical Stabilizer. This will let you move the tail surfaces back.

Hmmmm....I adjusted those and the control surfaces (320) first. I'm pretty sure I have the surface area dimensions very close, but she ends up being about five feet too long. A plane with a very similar tail to the Dewoitine is the PZL P-24, so I used her tail surfaces and overall dimensions as a base and have guesstimated accordingly.
 
Horizontal Stab [1205] Position Fore+/Aft- of CoG (inches)

Vertical Stab [1206] Longitudinal Position (Fore+/Aft- of CoG - inches)

On most AC, they would technically be approximately the same in longitudinal measurement. Also, as an option you might look at the Scrape Points[1005] Front Scrape Point Fore+/Aft- CoG (inches), Rear Scrape Point Fore+/Aft- CoG (inches).
 
No way to set the total length measurement in AirEd alone - there's no record for that. But using Airwrench you can input a length measurement and allow the program to "do the math" in setting the dimension for you. From there, i'm not sure where the "fully baked" info goes exactly in the air file. IMO your guess would be close enough to get the job done.
