Anyone using this program? If so, is there a way to modify the area around small airports so the aprons are not as wide as the airfield is long? I would like to make these small airfields so the trees are closer on both sides. I can add trees one at a time but can't figgure how to let the default trees closer to the runway.

You need to set an exclude to remove the default aircraft background. Place a polygon that intersects (i.e. crosses the edge of) the default airfield boundary and set it to type Exclude Airfield Background. It's that simple.

HOWEVER... Remember to create a new, smaller, airfield background (another polygon set to type AB_Flatten, Exclude Autogen, Exclude Landclass if you want) so that you don't have trees on the runway... ;)

Thanks IanP - I'll give it a try. I have done the exclude for some small airfields that needed deleting. They were in places that no longer have airfields.....

thanks again. I'll let you know it I can work it!

Anyone using this program?

I have been using it for a couple of months and think it is pretty much the best of it's kind, pretty easy to learn and a good price! I also spend a small amount on 'Instant Scenery' for the 'eye candy' stuff and I can now virtually make a new airfield in a day.....if only I could get the 'blends' done as well!!

I did this one (for Horizon VFR) this afternoon, the home of the Hull Aero Club in South Yorkshire, UK. It was just a RWY and fuel pump in default mode.

Worked like a charm:

Get rid of old Background:
Polygon / Type: Exclude General / Tag: Airport Backgrounds
Add New Background:
Polygon / Type: Airport Background / Tag: Flatten Exclude AutoGen

Nice thanks IanP.

Very good program and the price is right indeed!
