Airport Studio (airport editor in FSX)

This is new to me (it may not be to you).

http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=apstv1

I only heard about this product yesterday. I don't think it has been out that long as I had to update IS2 and AFX to make them compatible with Airport Studio.

So, what is Airport Studio I hear you ask?

Well, it looks like it is AFX but instead of being a standalone program Airport Studio operates within FSX allowing you. The behaviour is very much like Instant Scenery 2 with mouseclicks on the scenery controlling most stuff.

Airport Studio will overlay an AFCAD/AFX style airport layout (you can control the transparency of the layer) over the scenery in FSX and you can move taxiways, parking spots etc etc all with the mouse within FSX. Click the reload button and FSX will redo it's scenery database and reload the scenery so you can double check that everything has worked.

I think AFX has a similar in game preview but I never used it at it seemed a bit too clunky.

I've only had a play with the demo so far but one thing that interests me is being able to draw the fence lines within FSX instead of linking AFX and FSX together and then having to slew about everywhere to line up all my airport boundary fences (which is a real slog).

Price is a very reasonable $19.95USD. Plus there's a demo and the Flight1 30 day money back guarantee.

Worth a look for anyone working with airport bgl's
