Alabeo C195 Released!

why do people do old planes then put modern panels in them :frown:

I don't really mind the modern panel myself. However it would have been nice if they could have included a vintage panel on some models.

Something like this, maybe?

To simulate a plane that has been upgraded with new avionics over the years. I bet there isn't a single 195 flying around with original avionics. When I sim do not pretend to live in the past, so contrary to you I prefer a modern panel on an older plane.

While I like the Alabeo modeling very much, their external textures always appear to be to bright, too reflective against any landscape. No so with Carenado. Anyone else see this?

What about the image you first posted above? I've seen a good number of these older Cessnas with lovingly restored original panels. My own Chief has an original panel. For many of us, there is a joy to flying VFR using basic instruments (and the odd portable GPS perhaps) and fly using primarily pilotage. So, although I'm not a big fan of Alabeo planes (after buying several), I was quite interested in this one, but would be much more tempted to buy if it included a vintage panel.

Love the look, the shine, the big round engine and the big round engine sound. Didn't have to add vc shadows as they were already enabled. I will be flying this aircraft a lot!

just got it! for my Birthday ! There is one based out of the my local airfield get to help put it into the hanger when its used

Although I will get this and was really looking forward to it, I'm disappointed that it doesn't have a panel that would have come with it when the plane was first sold.
Look at all the interest in the vintage panel being designed for the C-47. Sure, a real plane would be updated over the years, but this is a simulation. Put an old panel in an old plane!

Because anytime an old jetliner or GA plane is done without a GPS, there's a dozen or two people pop up on avsim and scream that they won't buy it unless it has a GPS.

So the companies like Carenado/Alabeo that aren't doing it for the love of old planes, but as a business, have no choice but to try and cater to these people.

It's too bad that there isn't a 195 (or, for that matter a Staggerwing) of this quality for those us us that fly in FS9. I'm pretty sure that it could be don, given the current state of FS development technology.
