That really looks outstanding and I have an itch to get it.
However. I bought the WACO and seldom fly it. I'm one of those who prefer a steam gauge cockpit that fits in the classic era of the aircraft.
Therefore: skip.

Love the screenshots here, a pleasure to look at!

Cheers,
Mark

Another great bird from these guys. Pondering picking it up but everytime I buy something from Carenado / Alabeo I have to fix up the audio as they do stereo for both interior and exterior which is incorrect.

Can anyone comment or verify if the exterior files are mono or are they stereo...thanks fellers.

Because anytime an old jetliner or GA plane is done without a GPS, there's a dozen or two people pop up on avsim and scream that they won't buy it unless it has a GPS.

So the companies like Carenado/Alabeo that aren't doing it for the love of old planes, but as a business, have no choice but to try and cater to these people.

I can understand this position.
I trust that these developers realize that the reverse is also true. Many of us vintage flyers prefer a vintage look and feel in a vintage aircraft.

Beautifull model.

But it would be nice to have, at least, an option between old and modern panels. Would buy it with this option or the old one. Really don't like old/vintage planes with modern panels...it´s like to make a restauration of an old car/plane with modern parts...not good...

regards

Even though I don´t know a thing about 3D-design and aircraft modelling, I would guess that it would be quite simple to offer a vintage cockpit alternative for a historic plane. The stock gauges would suffice well. It could be most fascinating to have a virtual 195 in its original equipment.

I think Alabeo/Carenado models their VC and panel layouts on whatever example of the plane they happen to have access to, be it from their own visit or their source photos of it. Their source example evidently had this panel layout. Just like their Staggerwing and Waco, they could have done a half a dozen different panel layouts, but they just did which ever one they had the most source info on. Vintage planes like that never really had a 'standard' layout then either.

I think just focusing on one example makes for less development time and a more accurate panel, at least with dimensions, lighting and such. True, I would have also preferred more vintage layout, or at least stick an ADF in somewhere so one can do some vintage navigation. LOL, at least they didn't stick a G1000 or big GNS in the radio stack.

Cheers

The model, textures, dynamics and sounds are all excellent, so for this price I won't complain about what gauges are fitted...

Bought this about an hour ago, got it downloaded and started the installation, must have tried at least 15 times to put in the serial #, each time it says either my e-mail or the serial # is wrong, I received it at my e-mail address, it's the same e-mail I've had for close to 10 years, so there must be something wrong with the serial number they sent.
I e-mailed Alabeo with the problem, most likely I won't hear from them until tomarrow.
Anyone else have an installation problem?
I assume that the KEY on the receipt is the serial number they are asking for. It has 32 numbers and letters. This is about the 7th plane I've got from Alabeo, never had a problem with installation.

There's an authorisation and serial number. It's the serial number you need to enter.

I had the same problem when I bought it yesterday, but they solved the problem within minutes after sending a message. Now for the problem of the aircraft overstressing immediately upon loading the flight..

Error in the cfg file

The flap g-limit was set to 0.
Replace the first 4 lines with these (or replace the 0 with the correct values).

positive_g_limit_flaps_up= 4.4
positive_g_limit_flaps_down= 3.9
negative_g_limit_flaps_up= -2.0
negative_g_limit_flaps_down= -1.7

Bernt, I have those numbers already in my aircraft.cfg (Bought it last night), but it still overstresses upon loading..

Just got an e-mail from Alabeo, they said they were having problems with their installers. They gave me a different serial number and to use "Alabeo" as the user name instead of my e-mail.
Will give it a try when I'm done with installing a wood floor.

EDIT; With a serial number that works, I had it installed in a few minuets. Nice plane, better than I thought it would be.

to be fair, its a fair bit of work, even if you do use the stock gauges. I fully understand them doing the panel they have the most info on etc etc, but that doesnt mean i have to like it :wiggle: :)
