Because anytime an old jetliner or GA plane is done without a GPS, there's a dozen or two people pop up on avsim and scream that they won't buy it unless it has a GPS.
So the companies like Carenado/Alabeo that aren't doing it for the love of old planes, but as a business, have no choice but to try and cater to these people.
The model, textures, dynamics and sounds are all excellent, so for this price I won't complain about what gauges are fitted...
Now for the problem of the aircraft overstressing immediately upon loading the flight..
The flap g-limit was set to 0.
Replace the first 4 lines with these (or replace the 0 with the correct values).
positive_g_limit_flaps_up= 4.4
positive_g_limit_flaps_down= 3.9
negative_g_limit_flaps_up= -2.0
negative_g_limit_flaps_down= -1.7
Just got an e-mail from Alabeo, they said they were having problems with their installers. They gave me a different serial number and to use "Alabeo" as the user name instead of my e-mail.
Will give it a try when I'm done with installing a wood floor.
Even though I don´t know a thing about 3D-design and aircraft modelling, I would guess that it would be quite simple to offer a vintage cockpit alternative for a historic plane. The stock gauges would suffice well. It could be most fascinating to have a virtual 195 in its original equipment.
I think Alabeo/Carenado models their VC and panel layouts on whatever example of the plane they happen to have access to, be it from their own visit or their source photos of it. Their source example evidently had this panel layout. Just like their Staggerwing and Waco, they could have done a half a dozen different panel layouts, but they just did which ever one they had the most source info on. Vintage planes like that never really had a 'standard' layout then either.
