Hello,
just wanted to let you know that we have just released 1.1 patch for the Austro-Hungarian Albatros D.III.
The model contains totally reworked FD thanks to the fantastic input from SOH well respected member John Cagle. The plane offers much better general 'feeling' and more realistic spin and stall behaviour. It would not be possibile without his great help, knowledge and passion. Thank you very much, John!
The plane also received a device which was installed in many Central Powers scout planes - the stick lock handle. It allows you to lock the stick in the desired position and to fly with the hands off. It was a kind of primitive trim/autopilot device and Iam very happy that we recreated it with this model. The plane received an ASI gauge and some minor fixes, too.
Personally, I am very proud of the results and I must say that the package is much better now. More info on the Oeffag's dedicated forum section: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=34161

All the best and sorry for appearing rarely on the SOH recently. I am very busy in the r/l - this was also a reason why you had to wait for the patch for so long.

Hi Lucas, the stick lock handle seems to be engaging without my input. Is there some key stroke that might be inadvertantly enabling it?

Yes Lucas I am used to trimming my aircraft with buttons assigned on my joystick.

Roger,
I use the trim keys assigned to my joystick, too. Once I will be at home, I will check the keyboard commands. The stick lock can be also activated/deactivated by pressing the mouse over the handle.

Edit:
Just forgot to mention that the 1.1 release has disabled both trim and basic autopilot functions availble in 1.0 version.

Thank you, Bill! Your new plane which you are working now is awesome! Great that you switched to Max and started to use AO :)

Roger - I have just tested Oeffag and keyboard strokes. The stick locks works if I press button "1" or "7" on the Num Pad - but only if it is off (so no green light on the keyboard)
I hope that it will help. Personally, as I wrote above, I use trim keys mapped on my stick. I use an old Sidewinder 2 by MS.

Best regards,
Lucas
