Albatross DII enters the WerkStatt

Howdy again folks..I'm back at this beast.:d I've got all the cabling installed except for the elevator control cables. I've got the suspension,(bungee cord type), working smoothly and worked up the currently applied textures a bit. I've also modeled the Wing struts and attatchment points.
Hope it's looking the part too you.:ernae:

Cheers
Randy

It really looks lovely Randy! :applause: However how did this Albatross end up in Pleurtuit/Saint Malo, which is in France, but way out of the range of a German Albatros :costumes:.

Cheers,
Huub

Thanks Huub....yeah he got caught in a storm and the nice folks outside of Paris refueled him...pity his compass was screwy.:costumes:

Here's a couple more progress shots of where the mapping is at. Hope you folks dig it. :ernae:

Cheers
Randy

I've decided to do the fuselage mapping over again to give myself some texturing breathing room..I think the details are a bit more evident now that the pixels aren't all crushed up.:d I've mapped out the wheels as well and tossed a texture on them.:ernae:

Cheers
Randy

Goodness Randy,

You are really accellerating fast in your high quality. That fuselage and pilot look photo real. I cant believe you have created all of this in what, 3 weeks?? Awesome work man..

Randy good buddy, That is one superb aircraft. :ernae::applause:
You have done a great job on this one, as well as the other cool classic warbirds.
CAn´t wait to see what cool paint-jobs everyone will be using on this plane. There were some excellent paints done on this model. I would like to see one all in red, as this was the "Red Baron´s" First "all Red" airplane he used, before he moved to the newer Fokker tridecker.

The red painted Albatros was D.III, not D.II which Randy is building. When flying the D.II, MvR had typical aircraft scheme.

Simply awesome model !

Ahhh yessssss!
The 'Myths and Legends' surrounding MvR and his 'all red' aircraft are many and varied.
