All this Mirage activity has me looking for a IIIc

Anyone know of a good freeware Mirage IIIc? I have the old Alphasim Mirage IIIc, but it is OLD. Looking for a good freeware Mirage IIIc. Have looked on the Mirage4Fs site thingie...the one with all the Mirages on it, but did not see a IIIc package...or maybe I just overlooked it.

Hi Obio,
unfortunately I couldn't find any!
Such a shame as this is my favourite version of the Mirage III...

There look to be a few options on the Mirage site, a Mirage IIIC/B pack, a IIICZ and a IIICJ - don't know how good they are though. Try about 2/3rd way down this page.

That one included the old Alphasim Mirage IIIB and IIIC. They were originally designed for FS2002/CFS2 so they are around 10 years old now. I worked with Colin Norwood when they were developed and did the original textures (my first textures for pay at Alphasim as I recall). The IIIB has a really nice shape to it especially the canopy area. Jason Ashworth made a superior IIIC shortly afterwards but again it is FS2002 vintage.

There have not been any true Mirage IIIC since then. There have been many IIIE painted as IIIC however. And example is the one by Patrice Grange that "johnr" suggested above.

When Mark Harper decided to make his Mirage III/5 series (it was originally going to be for both FS9 an FSX) he asked what to make and I told him he would get more use out of the IIIE airframe because the IIIC wasn't developed any further (except being re-engined by Israel). The IIIE could be converted into the many export versions, the IIIR recon versions, and the Mirage 5/Nesher line. Marketing-wise it was the obvious choice.

I checked out a few Mirage IIIc packs....they did not have VCs. And in my book, a plane with no VC is worthless.

In the absence of a true IIIC model, I am going to use the IIIEA from the Mirage3.zip pack by J. E. Narcizo. It is "close" enough to the IIIC in my book...it has the same basic shape and does not have canards. It's not like I could pick a IIIC out of a line of Mirage IIIs. Have never seen a real Mirage in my life, so close enough is good enough to fool my feeble mind. Going to slap some French and Israeli skins on it and call it a day. The plane looks good, have a nice VC and give great frame rates. The sound is the weak point in the package, but I aliased it to the sound pack in Isra's release and all is good on the Western Front.

How about this one: http://web.lerelaisinternet.com/110548352/mirage-iii-ce.php

I came across the site this morning.

Good Luck,

T.

That's Patrice Grange's own page; his models were mentioned above by both Frank and John R ( Hello John!!)

The VC was a /an update applied to the models; so some of the ones that have found their way on to other sites will be without the update.

'Tanguy' was a character on a kids TV show; that featured the, er, 'adventures' of 2 French Air Force Mirage III pilots' (think of a gaulloise Maverick and Goose!); sometime around 1970

Hi OBIO, right, Narcizo made a nice serie of Mirage, 1 or 2 seats... they look good and Yago9 made several nice skins for them. Also nice french skins by Baptiste Aubertel, on AVSIM...
In case, you welcome for help...
