Alpha Sim F-80

Willy can take credit for this. . .had it not been for him I probably never would have looked into this little gem. Actually for an FS9 port it's a little beauty. I redid the VC, about 90% of it anyway, and did three different liveries in 4096x4096 textures. This is the last one and the one I'll fly the most, kind of a personal "what if" livery.

That one's looking great!

I've got the paint kit I'm working pretty close now. Just some minor tweaking if I don't get anymore ideas to try out. I've set it up with different layer sets for a P-80A, P-80B or a F-80C. And I'm still doing some T-33s to boot. Got a couple of real life civilian paints in mind for those. One I've found several pics of and the other just one pic, but there's enough there for a start.

This is where I was at early this morning with the F-80s. I could have had this one "done", but I got another idea on how to improve the bare metal on it. (the new idea is working too)

Very interested in your VC upgrade...! Love all those old Alphasim early jets.

I definitely like the looks of that Willy. Bare metal can really be frustrating at times. . .I started one and stopped because it wasn't what I was seeing in my head. Never went back to it and so decided on the Black Widow instead. Anxious to see what you do with the bare metal in it's final form.

Ed, both you and Willy are certainly adding NEW LIFE to this airplane. Looks great! :applause:

Thanks for the kind words. I'm doing some fictitious ones as well but based on the idea of if we had of had to invade Japan adapting paint schemes from WW2 P-51s, P-47s, etc. But I'm also planning on redoing a lot of the real life schemes I did last summer & fall as I've got to where I'm not really happy with those at all.

But first, I've got a helicopter to paint.....
