Funding is never really an issue, most modellers build for pleasure or subject matter that interests them, its detailed interior information thats always an issue, doesnt matter if its a C-17, B-52 or B737, VCs these days require an awful lot more detail, its not acceptable any more to pan around a VC and see generic formica walls and cardboard seats, people want details and details require information.
I was fortunate to get inside a T-43 and allowed to take photos, the crew were most amazed when I was taking pictures of the roof and rear bulkhead, as well as all the normal controls and gauges LOL.
You just cannot even contemplate building a model without several hundred detailed shots these days.
UKMIL, yes they were doing a C-17, I think there was a preview here somewhere, maybe in the Chinook thread ?, it was around that time when we were all helping the author sort FSx shine and materials out in the Chinook. Over at the AS unofficial forum I see the Chinook is now also canceled ?.

It can't be too hard. I get C-17 rides from time to time, and I always take video and pics. I've even got all the right aural tones and pics of the gauges working and their various functions. I offered them to alphasim, but I guess they already had that stuff. If anyone around here wants pics of US military aircraft (provided it's not sensitive material) I'll get 'em.

Freds give me a h&*$ on, sorry....it is after the water shed though LOL, I've still yet to capture one on approach to Mildenhall, maybe this year, that is one cockpit I am looking for rear facing views of, the rest of the technology is solveable, kneeling, ramps, steering rear gear and crab function, just need more VC data.
Anyway, back to C-17s, they tend to look awfully small, until you get close to them, thats quite a cargo hold they have in their, nothing like a Fred but big none the less.

The problem with previous releases is that consumer demands have meant they've had to be for both sims, meaning I couldn't take advantage of any FSX tricks.
C-17- well, it isn't that easy for a British national living in NZ to get access to a C17 That said, there are specialists on the team that work wiht the C17 so pretty much every aural tone and feature has been programmed.

TBH Dan I'm not too surprised by your announcement. I once said to my son "in the first years of your working life move on after two years because if you are too good at your job promotion will only come by moving up elsewhere".
He took that advice and is now settled and heading a team working for a prominent UK aerospace company.

Roughly it takes about few years to load a Alpahsim VC after you saw the first shot of a almost complet project on their website.Ex. BN2 , Jaguar , C-17.

I you release a C-5 I'll freak out and give you a ton of money. I've made five different C-5 sound packs, one for every version of MSFS since FS98. I like to think I've got it pretty good now. The alphasim C-5 is good, but the flight dynamics annoy me to where I can't use it.
