alphasims Lynx Helicopter updated packages

Hello,I have been itching to download the Alphasims Fs9 Lynx helicopter,but there a bunch of updated packages out there,has anybody downloaded any of these?and can I get some reviews of what's good,and bad?

Depends on which ALPHA Lynx you are referring to AH-7 or Future Lynx.


I tried both; personally didn't like the 'Future' one, and in any case with the AH-7 package you have an AH-8 anyway.

This is the 'updated' one I used:-

The update improves some textures and adds thumbnail images so that you don't have to add your own in order to get the appropriate image with the description etc., in your aircraft free flight list.

I used this update for the AH-7:-

They aren't up to native FSX model quality but having said that they do handle and sound really rather nicely!

No such things as an AH-8! There's the HMA8, although your picture is of a HAS3...

AH - Army Helicopter, no really in the UK it actually stands for Army Helicopter because they're that special
HAS - Helicopter Anti-Submarine, bit of a misnomer with the Lynx as the UK ones never had dipping SONAR so were clueless to the actual position of the submarine.
HMA - Helicopter Maritime Attack, because that's what the naval Lynx really were what with the anti-shipping missiles and everything.
 
Thanks guys for the info,yeah,I wish somebody would make an FSX native version,but until then this will have to do.

Yes, Skip! Thanks for the correct description; I was however simply trying to give some easy to follow 'links' for the Lynx! Ha, ha! I made a funny:biggrin-new:
Rather than to go into fine details about the actual helicopter! Cheers all the same mate!:encouragement:

Does anybody have a problem with restarting the engines after shut down with the Future Lynx model?I start the engine,and try to get up to collective,but the blades just slow down when giving it any throttle,and then just starts playing the starter sounds over,and over,and never speeding up the blades.:banghead:
 
Worth a punt mate. I don't think I have all the necessary conversion bits listed for it. Certainly.. very few of my gauges work (I think 1 does!!) and nothing is clickable for me. Good job I spend most time outside looking at it:biggrin-new:

Ill PM you a link to the one I am using it's very nice actually.
 
OK Mate. I may actually have all the bits spread across 2 pc's but in the fog of rebuilds.. I never got around to adding them all:teapot: I don't fly it often although I modded the HMA8 to represent my old mate off Andromeda. We had a USN exchange pilot onboard for the first Gulf trip I did on her who I remember could say 'Go on punk.. make my day' in Farsi!!! Most excellent:rocket:
