Alternative Cant Z1007 props uploaded!

A good day to everybody! :wavey:

I just uploaded alternative new propeller textures for F. Giuli's Cant Z1007 for FS9, converted to CFS2 by our good Peperez.

For each aircraft I included two alternative blurred propeller textures to choose from and alternative dp files as follows:

- Stock Japanese 60kg bombs replaced with William Dickens' 50kg Italian bombs;
- Stock Japanese wing bomb pylons replaced with Thicko's D4Y wing pylons;
- Stock Japanese torpedos replaced with Dbolt's Luftwaffe torpedos;
- Stock US P-38 wing pylons replaced with Ground Crew's British torpedo carriers.

Besides, a Green Ghost's style gauge-controlled exhaust effect.

As an extra feature, I enclosed two sound.cfg files. I did both a while ago so that I could have more realistic sounds for Pierino Primavesi's Cant Z1007 (F.Giuli's Alcione ancestor), VB Planes' Cant Z506 floatplane and Pcmeneg's SM.81 series.

1) The file contained in "Cant_Z1007\3engine_sound_cfg\Cant Z_GnomeRhone" will turn Lawdog2360's Gnome-Rhone single engine sound pack into a 3-engine configuration.
Piaggio PXI RC40 radial engines, equipping Cant Z aircrafts, were licensed derivatives of the French Gnome-Rhone.

2) The second sound.cfg, contained in "Cant_Z1007\3engine_sound_cfg\Savoia Marchetti_BristolMercury", will turn again Lawdog2360's Bristol Mercury single engine sound pack into a 3-engine configuration.
Alfa Romeo AR126 RC34 radials were license-built British Bristol Mercury engines, and were mounted on Savoia-Marchetti SM.81 Pipistrello aircrafts.

I hope you'll enjopy it.

Sorry!

Hi folks!

mvg3d just replied to Pepe's Cant Z1007 thread attaching an historical Regia Aeronautica loading scheme for the Alcione here:

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?81534-F-Giulli-CANT-Z-1007&p=836615#post836615

Among other things this payload sheet states the Z1007 carried only ONE torpedo.

I just asked Rami to hold my upload back until I can correct all dp files according to the historical specs. I'll try to do it a.s.a.p.

Thank you for your patience!

New historical dp for the RA model

Hi everybody!

Please, find attached a new dp file reflecting the historical loadout scheme provided by MVG3D here:

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforu...ulli-CANT-Z-1007&p=836805&posted=1#post836805

The attached shots shows the Regia Aeronautica, twin-tailed Z1007 dropping the 2 x 250kg + 3 x 100kg payload and the reduced torpedo load. Plese try it out and let me know if the dp is satisfactory or not, so that I can modify my upload pack accordingly.

Of course, I could only create payloads according to William Dickens' available Italian bombs. What I cannot understand are the external bombs configurations which, in the historical scheme, look as they aren't combined with internal loadouts. It just doesn't sound right to me.

I am attaching also pictures of whatever info I could find, so far, in terms of loadout combos. The webesite is this:

http://weaponsandwarfare.com/?attachment_id=8822#main

but it doesn't say anything about Z1007 loadouts.

The paintschemes are interesting, particularly the first two for the monoderiva (single tail) model, which could be used in Rami's upcoming Greece/Balcans campaign. Anyone volunteering spraycans and brushes?

Cheers!

More changes....

Hi folks! :wavey:

When I saw the Z1007 cutaway I posted above, a new idea came to me. When I zoomed in the cutaway I noticed that the external wing rack for the three pictured 50kg bombs looks extremely similar, both in looks and location under the wings, to the underwing detail placed by F. Giuli on his Z1007. The original model underwing racks (or, at least, what they seem to be to me) are permanent.

So yesterday I decided to get rid of all additional wing racks I previously used and placed the external payloads there instead. The attached screenshot shows the new payload location, this time I could use several freed hardpoints, so all of the bombs are displayed.

Please, find attached a new dp file reflecting the new changes. I deleted the one I posted yesterday, which you should discard as well.

Again, please post your comments and/or if you have more historical info about Cant Z1007 payload arrangements, so that I can modify each of the dp files uploaded by Peperez accordingly and upload a definitive mod pack.

Cheers!

Bonjour, Dombral!

I agree with you we badly need a good Fiat Br20, and if I may add, a Macchi C.200 for CFS2.

BOTH models are from IS4G's and, yes, they do show their age since they were developed from CFS1 models.

I have no idea how to help you with Giuli's SCW Br.20 areas which remains untextured, but I wonder why F. Giuli did not upload HIS repaint in Regia Aeronautica colours.
His R.A. repaint can be seen in a couple of screenshots included in his pack, but the textures uploaded are for the Spanish Civil War only.

Since I haven't received any further info about the Z1007 payload combinations, I will upload a definitive mod pack tomorrow. The dp files will reflect all of MVG3D's indications with some extra I did, hoping not too fictional, in order to avoid having external payloads with an empty bomb bay.

I combined the external payloads with internal as follows, (light to heavy):

  • 4 x 250kg (internal) + 6 x 100kg (external)
  • 4 x 250kg (internal + 2 x 250kg (external)
  • 2 x 500kg (internal) + 4 x 250kg (external)

The last combination, as per MVG3D's, for the twin-tailed model only. The monoderiva was the first Cant Z1007 production model, while the later twin-tailed Bis and Ter were equipped with more powerful Piaggio radial engines allowing for heavier payloads, although the 2,000kg top carrying capability seriously taxed fuel consumption and could only be employed over short distances.

Cheers!

Hi Dombral,
have you tried MdlMat by Martin Wright?
Where i can find the Br20Scw by F. Giuli? can you provide a link?

UPLOADED!!

Hi folks!

As announced, I just uploaded my definitive mod pack for F.Giuli/Peperez's Cant Z1007 bis/ter.

There's an additional payload from what I stated earlier. I decided to go for the anti-ship loadout listed in the R.A. diagram posted by MVG3D, composed by a Semi-Armour Piercing 800kg bomb plus 3 x 100kg bombs.

Since there is no Italian R.A. 800kg bomb available, I used instead Kawauso's 800kg bomb, which can be found in his German/Japanese weapon pack, here at SOH in "CFS2-Other" section.

I hope you will all enjoy it.

Cheers!

Kelti,

This is outstanding work, thank you so very much! :salute:

By the way, per your comments in the upload description, OBIO did a three-engined soundpack for the Piaggio radials, which were themselves derivatives of the Gnome-Rhone radials: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?action=jump&catid=48&id=13682

First thing first...
:ipepsi2:
THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR KIND COMMENTS!
:wiggle:

Hi Rami, I missed Obio's work at the time! Had I knew it, I would have not worked on a Gnome-Rhone 3-engine sound.cfg, I'm kinda lazy dude y'a know.....;)

Well, it's only proper giving Obio his due credit for the sound.cfg, so mine it's only a duplicate. It's just easy to get, since it's part of the Cant Z1007 mod pack, if Obio has problems with it, feel free to delete it out of the pack.

Cheers!
