Amazing landing video

Apparently the following took place on 30.04.2011..

Chkalovsky Airport.

After 10 years spent on ground, Tu-154B2 board RA-85563 finally took off again. Shortly after takeoff, flight control system has failed, leaving only thrust and altitude control at the disposal of crew. Plane started to wobble, sometimes yawing and banking at 40°. Nonetheless, crew still managed to land jet, such a miracle.

An air of BS surrounds this one...but you be the judge!:icon_lol:

I wouldn't want to be the first crew to fly any aircraft that's been on the ground for 10 years, especially one in Russia. "Hey Boris, spray some WD-40 down the intakes and we'll be good to go!" :icon_lol:

Goodness me..imagine the shock and horror these pilots went through when its control systems failed on t/o. I wouldn't have liked to be the pilot and crew flying that TU154...:kilroy:

Nope, guys, I think it's the real deal. If you look at the apparent oscillation modes and rates that aircraft has mass to it; it's no 30 pound r/c model. And if you look at the second clip once it flies over and past the cameraman you start to get the optical shimmering effect that only a significant amount of distance between object and camera can produce on a sunny day. Also, the scale of the aircraft to foreground objects definitely implies something as large as an airliner. Finally, Tu-154's are getting pretty long in the tooth by now and are earning a a rather chequered safety record the past few years, so seeing one go squirrelly after 10 years in mothballs wouldn't surprise me at all. Those boys are absolutely goddamn lucky and some fine pilots to boot; my hat's off to them.

I don't think that plane can yaw like that and to do so without violently stalling or dropping altitude more than it does. Seems impossible to me.

Boy.... I tell you guys... I usually pride myself on being able to pick a fake out... this one has me perplexed.... Obviously the first scene of the airplane taking off is the real deal... i think we can all agree on that... But I must have to say that the way that airplanes if bopped around the sky, it just looks too "rag-dollish"... And then you have the obvious "goes behind the trees" scene, and then it's back to an obvious real airplane on the roll out....

Interesting to note however, is that those photos in that last link look real to me, and from a different angle.....

HHHMMMMM

Jury is still out on this one for me.....

It's the landing lights that make it seem more real than fake. Real landing lights are bright as heck during the day because they're very powerfull. And these are very prominent in the video, and clearly look like real ones. I'm finding it hard to believe that someone would build an RC with such powerfull lights.

It's very possible that the lights were added in video post processing. There are some amazing video editing suites and plugin's available...just ask the professional FS video makers:icon_lol:. The airfield and even the same treeline is visible in that RC video.
The fact remains...with the Tu-154's apparent rate of decent and extreme crab angles, the gear would have been ripped off/collapsed on touch down. Also, note the delay from when the a/c touches down till when it reappears from behind the trees on rollout. :)

As truly bizarre as this clip still is.... and as much as I truly am trying to find things to make it fake... I Just don't think it is... IF it is... it is an incredible piece of work......

The pure fact we have video or still shots from 3 different angles would be difficult to fake...
