Description: A new model of a french Amiot 143M medium bomber for CFS2.

Used in the late '30's and in the early stages of WWII.

Yep, ummm interesting alright. Kind of like they took the body of a bus and stuck wings on it. No doubt an austerity measure during the depression. :biggrin-new:

Yes I have become quite fond of the ol' Amiot, all nations produced some questionable ac at this time..ha ha!

It was that trasitional period between the wars. Just think though that in the 10 years from 1935 to 1945 we went from this type of ac to transonic swept wings and 550mph+/950kph+ and 50,000ft/15,000m!!

And huge thanks to the SAS IL-2 team and the late-great Paul Clawson for their original work.

Agreed. There was enough weirdness to go around all the aircraft producing countries in the late 20's and early 30's as the aircraft designers groped for new ideas and new manufacturing methods while they still had to be influenced by the then current tried and true concepts. So there was this strange blend for a decade or so. The USA was hardly immune - look at the 1930 Bellanca Air Cruiser C-27 for example.
